Colts would never do it and if I was the saints gm I would jump all over it and you wouldn't e able to slap the smile off my face. And I also love Bree's but can't do your job and be emotional about it

I hate to say this but Drew is in Decline. Every time he throws the ball over 40 yards he under throws the receiver which allows the CB to make up the ground and knock the ball away. Because of this fact the Defense can play
8 in the box and take away the short passes. However, we have his replacement on the practice squad Ryan Griffin. So next year I would trade him for a stud linebacker and shut down corner and 1 first round draft pick.
If we wait any longer than that his worth will continue to decline.
Sorry, because I do like Drew and think he has been great for the Saints but
we can't live in the past....

quote:not sure about that, given the back end of those 5 years will likely favor Luck in a huge way.
We have a better chance at winning a SB with Drew on this team the next 5 years, than we would with Luck.
quote:and barring a minor miracle, he won't been Lucks level.
Payton will have his next QB lined up before Drew retires anyway.

Yes, without hesitation.... Trade for a guy that has all of his best years ahead of him, vs. one that is looking at his best days in the rear view mirror.... yeah, i'd help Drew pack his bags while at it....
not saying i don't appreciate what he did, and it would be like losing a family member to a degree, but if you are talking about the business of football, Luck is the better option right now....

I've got Luck and I wouldn't trade him for Brees on my fantasy team
If I was Loomis I'd give up Brees and Jimmy for Luck

Why is everyone in here sucking Luck's dick so hard?
He's not the best QB to ever step on a football field. He's barely proven himself.

He's the closest you can come to a sure bet to be great.

As a rookie, he took a 1-15 team to the playoffs. He is big, strong, mobile, very intelligent, and accurate despite playing in a pretty vertical passing game. If you wouldn't objectively consider trading a 35 year old qb for a guy 10 years younger who possesses every tool necessary to be an all time great, and has already had significant success in his first few years then there isn't any point to even thinking long term.

Brees has maybe 5 years left.
Brees has been GREAT for the Saints.
That said, I don't see 5 more years with him. I already see the decline in some of his skills....I hate it, but I've seen it for a while now.

This. I love Drew, but would switch to a much younger, taller Luck in a heartbeat.
