The difference is Boston vs Baton Rouge.

I still think Yellow Cab will stay in business, but they will jsut be for the airport really.

no, it isnt.

even off peak times, they say 15 minutes. It's still fricking hours.

Really? You can drive through tigerland in non peak hours and see cab sitting in that zone waiting on a call for long periods of time.

Ahh see more truth comes out. During peak times, that is exactly what is told to them. I've been waiting on someone to slip and say that very sentence. That is the one thing that seems to be left out. They are also told where to wait. Reason is they know where it is the easiest to get a cab to them.

If what you are saying is true then people have no reason to bitch. I can tell you this is not the case in New Orleans. They do not tell you a realistic time because they believe that will deter business. Also, the majority of people here are claiming they are told a number MUCH MUCH lower than 2+ hours. In fact, not one person has claimed they were told 2 hours and they showed up at the 3 hour mark. Maybe some BR users can comment on that. I think we both agree that if YC is saying it will be 2.5-3 hours and the driver shows up around the 3 hour mark then they have done their part. However, if they say they will be there in 45 mins and don't show up for 2+ hours then it's all on the cab company. Agreed?

They have contracts that will keep them going. Railroad, handicap transport and other things.

Are you comparing Boston to crappy Louisiana cities ?

I take it you never been to Boston. Boston is a very walkable city, more so than BR or NOLA. Plus they have a viable train/bus system. Like the poster said, there are still a bunch of cab drivers in business despite Uber's presence.

Listen gump cab driver, I consider Yellow Cab of Baton Rouge one of the worst organizations in the state. I without a doubt blame you for countless DWI's and even deaths. The competence and the willingness of your drivers is deplorable to the point of rage.

I have used UBER in Dallas for the past two years and it has made me feel safer. It has also made my nights out more enjoyable and has saved me countless dollars. I have prayed for a day that Baton Rouge gets UBER.

Your time is done here. You will not be the cause of any more frustration and devastation. The customers have the power of choice now, and judging by this thread and your Yelp reviews ... Your days of being 45 minutes late at the end of the night in TigerLand are done!

From all of us that have had "the pleasure" of riding with you...good bye, good riddance and happy unemployment mother f*cker!
