I'm willing to bet he didn't actually break 100 if he played by the rules.

Maybe he did.

Well considering the lowest possible score he made was a 116 based on what he posted. I'm going to say he didn't

Par was 66. There were about 8 par 3s and only a few 5s. Don't remember the exact number of triple vs doubles. Only part I paid attention to was my 2 pars. And as for the 300 drive...I can smash the thing but have no clue where it's going. I got lucky and hit it pretty straight by my standards.

Eta: I'll also add that for every one I hit 200+, I hit 3 that go about 17 feet. Also hit one that didn't leave the teebox. I actually took a second swing at it while it was in mid air

I get Calls all the time for get golf ready. I won't start a class until I have 5 in it. Just not worth it doing it for one person.

I've never gotten why people do this for a recreational sport. It's like going out and hiring private basketball coach because your shot has been off your last few pick up games. It just seems dumb....but hey whatever

This may be the dumbest post ever. Is there handicaps in basketball? Do I get spotted points at certain times? If I suck can I compete with the best?

The answer to all is no.

Most tournaments have flights or handicaps that provide an equal playing field. That's why you get lessons. You can win tournaments shooting 100

Were you playing a par 3 course? Otherwise I don't see how those numbers add up to a 98.

ETA: Nevermind. Just read through the rest of the thread, I was thinking I was a math tard or something for a minute.

Well bogey golf is shooting 90. So I don't think you shot a 98 with 2 pars and 13 triples+

Do you baseball grip it? Or do you overlap?

I would suggest getting used to overlap or interlock.

Jesus h Christ. Read the fricking thread. I don't know how many triples & doubles. My BIL was keeping score. It was a par 66. The thread title isn't "I shot a 98, prove me wrong"

I gave up the interlocking last time I played. Went straight baseball this time

I overlap 7-LW and interlock Driver-6. I always interlocked and I'm trying to go to the overlap. I can't control above a 7 with it so far though. It did make my wedges much more consistent.

Overlap is just putting your left index on top of your right pinky?
