It would be impossible to make a cheaper interior than the ones GM used from '07 to'13. That crap is embarrassing. Crap door handles, power lock actuators, falling bits of plastic, discolored door panels, crap power mirror motors, etc. DodgeRam is probably better.

Comfortable seats, though.

That's a good question. Gas mileage side of me says v6, I do a lot of traveling for work. But, the outdoorsmen in me says v8. I pull a trailer here and there the boat stays at the camp and I load my 4wheller and kayak up in the bed. So, I don't do anything that really requires me to have a v8.

I just saw a commercial where Ford is now offering 13k off of sticker on 14 model crew cab F150's. I may trade my 13 model in this week.

Which dealership?

If you can get by with 300hp/280ish tq, you can get a Ram 1500 with the 3.7 V6 that'll get 24 or 25 mpgs on the highway. Pretty sure you can get a V6 Ram 1500 in top of the line trim too.

Just food for thought.

More for a v6? Figured they would be cheaper? I will check out the RAM's.

What are some good sites to check. I have the autotrader app.

Ecoboost v6 will be all you need for towing. Rated up to 11000 lb towing capacity.

I see a lot of the fords with the stx package in my price range. What does this package usually offer?

Ford offers a 3.6(?) liter V6 standard with the Ecoboost and 5.0 V8 optional. The Ecoboost is considered premium out of the three = $$$.

Ram offer's a 3.7 liter V6 standard with the 5.7 Hemi V8 and Ecodiesel V6 optional. The Ecodiesel is considered premium out of the three = $$$.

Don't remember all of GM's offerings aside from the 5.3 and 6.2 liter V8's.

ETA: STX, if I remember correctly, is a baseline package. Normally 2wd, few options, and equipped with a V6 (not the ecoboost).

Yeah, I like the STX price but doesn't have what I'm looking for.

You oughta buy 4's truck.
I think it's 4wd, iirc.

Do an "in and out" at the dealer so he gets sales tax credit and you get a good deal on truck that still has factory warranty.

I have a 2wd xlt Ecoboost with everything I need for 27k. Don't know about others but it is rare when I actually need or want 4wd. I do go to the camp, off road a little, and tow occasionally. No problems so far

2014 Sierra owner here. 0 complaints so far. Can't really comment on being good on gas because I have the bigger of the two V8s and I drive it like a high school kid. I will say this though. The times I have been stuck in speed limit moving traffic and had nowhere to be the gas mileage I got was pretty impressive. With heavier wheels and tires than the factory ones I have seen 20+ mpg going 60-65 mph. Normal city/interstate driving im looking at around 18 mpg. Ive put about 17000 miles on it since I got it almost 5 months ago which I feel like is a decent enough test to make sure its not a complete lemon.
