Last I saw was somewhere between 25-30. They have one of the weakest farms in baseball.

Stanton would cost Miller, Martinez, and Wong

No way that gets Stanton IMO. Taveras would pretty much have to be part of it for the Cardinals to have a prayer at Stanton.

I figured it had to be down there. Still a decent haul for the pads but that #2 in the organization is certainly putting a pretty coat of paint on it.

That's a nice set of players for the Padres. You just aren't going to get the elite for a relief pitcher.

How many times has Stanton been mentioned. I can't even read my Red Sox blog of choice because that's all the WEEI idiots want to do.

I love how these trade concoctions for one of the best players in baseball always exclude the other team's top prospects.
If I read the Red Sox board, well they can't give up Bogarts - out of the question!
the As just gave up a top 5 prospect for someone with about 40% of the trade value of Stanton.

In fairness there was another piece in that trade. But your point is well received. No one wants to part with impact prospects and seem to think they can get away with only moving middling prospects.

Maybe the Rangers could somehow trade Jon Daniels to a team in Japan. He may be worth a bucket of sunflower seeds.

Can anyone explain to me why the Marlins have made Casey McGehee unavailable? Do they really think they can make a playoff run?

This makes me think Stanton isn't going anywhere, why would they say "we have a shot at the playoffs so we aren't trading Mcgeehee however at the same time we ll get rid of Stanton"

There is no way they trade Stanton anyway, Marlins have a ton of young players and Fernadez will be back next year

Edwin Jackson? LOL
he's been horrible for 2 years. And you get him for another 2 at $11 million each.

Not too surprising, except for maybe the news on Elvis. I thought he had a chance to be traded but it looks like he won't. My guess is they are shopping Odor around as well.

If and it's a really big if the Yankees traded for e jax it would be similar to the soriano trade in that the cubs would probably have to eat over 50% of that salary

It was only a matter of time with the way this season has been going.

Surprised they wouldn't move Beltre with his age and the prospects he would bring in
