had heard somewhere that testimony before Congress in not under oath; is that true?

Lying to Congress is in fact a crime. It's Perjury when under oath and it's Making a General False Statement when not under oath. The penalties are about the same.

They'll likely get away with it. Sad.

Much like when Tony Soprano says he's in Waste management, the intent of the lie is not to conceal what they're doing. It's to flaunt it. They don't care that we know they're lying. They're daring Congress to do something about it.

Only thing I got out of that video was that Gowdy must have been appointed an image consultant because he finally took care of that shitefest he called a hairdo

So, we potentially have the IRS being used to target American citizens to suppress their political activities, and we are more concerned about the haircut of a U.S. Congressman.

Well done EthanL. Take pride in that post.

Wow. No humor allowed from 'liberals' huh.

I guess if BHP had come along and said that everyone would have sent him 'bow' emoticons and tell him how great of a poster he is.

The guy's hair was horrendous and he cleaned it up. It was more a compliment.

Geez

2 IRS audits in last 5-6 years. They are b u l l s h I t, and deserve elongated torture. Arrogant, entitled, never met a payroll, elite, smarter than those they serve and those that pay taxes to finance them. In a word, they are c o c. K s s u c k e r s.

Fair enough. I'm just hopeful that something short of armed revolt and water boards will suffice.

yes, he would be an excellent match in a debate but the thing is debates don't really matter.

They do if you are the Attorney General. That should be Trey Gowdy's next job.

Curious Iowa golfer - did you donate to any groups that oppose progressive policy? Why so many audits?

And ... they are NOT alone.

They have their comrades with OSHA, EPA, DOL, NLRB, etc., etc. .... doing the same damn thing.

Frick them all.

Maybe he called up Maddow's stylist.

Gowdy has more integrity than anyone in that whole shite filled city.
