Well, yes and no. The guy who had the hammer before will no longer be Thor, but he will still be a guy.
So what is the guy's real name?

The hammer finds this woman worthy and she becomes Thor.
Thor is still Odin's son in the comic book right? I guess I'm really only familiar with the Norse God Thor not really the comic book super hero, but he is Odin's son and also worthy of the Hammer. This girl will be worthy of the Hammer but she won't be Odin's son, heir to Asgard, that would still be Thor Odinson

DC/Marvel crossover

I can finally not feel weird about fapping to Thor.

There have been tons of crossover comics, sometimes involving individuals (Batman vs Spider-Man) sometimes teams (JLA vs Avengers). Wonder Woman wielded Mjolnir in DC vs Marvel, published back in the 90s.

Its been written both ways. In the beginning, Donald Blake found the hammer, was found worthy, and had a conventional secret-identity.
Later, it was revealed that Thor was in fact Donald Blake all along, forced by Odin to live as a human to learn humility.
More recently, Marvel toyed with this idea again as Thor lived as a human paramedic.
Who knows what they are doing now, but it sounds like this chick will simply have the power of Thor, rather than the son of Odin actually being transgendered.

So Thor will just be a dude with no special powers? Will he still be in the series?
Posted on 7/18/14 at 1:17 pm to Tiger1242
Not currently reading, but I assume he will be a human, like in the first movie, or a normal Asgardian - just without the hammer, or maybe even killed off.

Here's something I didn't know:
Angela (the angel from Spawn, now a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy) is actually Thor's half-sister.
She's not the new Thor though. Quesada said it will be someone "very close to him".

During Age of Ultron, the constant jumps through time tore a hole in the multiverse, pulling her out of heaven.
In Original Sin, it's revealed that she was killed as an infant and Odin cut the 10th realm (where the Angels reside) off from Yggdrasil as punishment.
How cool would it be for her to show up in the 3rd Thor film played by Charlize Theron?
Per Marvel, her name is Aldrif Odinsdottir

Yep, Falcon is the new Black Captain America.
What's next? Gay Hulk?
