Burgers.

My fiance always struggles with "overcooking it" for me.

Congrats on the E. Coli, brah.

ALL ground meat needs to be thoroughly cooked. It's not like a steak where bacteria can't permeate into the meat. When the meat is ground it comes into contact with the air even in the middle of the ground meat.

ETA: Sorry if this has already been discussed, I only read the 1st page.

Onions.
I love to make French Onion Soup. Ya gotta have discipline to allow those onions to burn. No such thing as overcooking an onion.

But thanks for getting Gaston started

Oh well. I ordered it rare and have so numerous times here. Uncooked ground meat is glorious. I ate it as tartare all over France and I doubt they are a conscious about it as places here, you know with all of our lawyers and all.

This may sound weird, but baked potato. I like it when I get one from Wendy's that's been baking for several hours in foil. It gets a sweet, smooth quality that I like.

I also like spaghetti well cooked, not al dente.

Tartare is supposed to be freshly ground and will be less apt to be contaminated, right?

I wouldn't trust someone else to store and cook ground meat for me at a restaurant below medium.

I usually go to medium well. To each his own

I hate these potatoes. They brown ones?

Well, if the inside has gotten brown, they're too far gone, I agree.

I'm someone who can't stand rare duck. If I order it at all I want it cooked well past pink, let around red/rare. Really I'd rather a confited leg or shredded meat if I'm eating duck. Something cooked low and slow, not seared and sliced and served. I had to send duck back at Lilette once because it came out still quacking.

Smoke saussage, grilled for a few minutes, then cover with BBQ sauce, and cook it to a nice burned crisp.

Hot dogs and maybe fried eggs are the only two i can think of. Love the eggs with that little crust ring around the edges. Hamburgers have to be med well at worst for me.
