I am slowly taking out a bunch of beers in my cellar as well, without adding many in their place.

I hold onto them for an "occasion", not because I'm hoping they get better. I'm not cellaring them properly for them to truly get better.

I can't contribute to the beer posting until I get off work. I'm an idiot and should have just taken today off too.

I know :(

I left my house late this morning, and was still on time because it seems the entire city took the day off.

Rookie mistake by me.

Worth it though. Next holiday weekend (Labor Day), I took off the Friday and already have the Monday off AND it will be GEAUX time

NoBD's for me today. I'm running a 10K tomorrow morning and need to hydrate. Will join tomorrow afternoon for sure. Cheers!

Damn strong

FBD will have to wait until after work but I'm ready to put in work after taking a day off due to "over-indulging" on Tuesday during the USA-BEL match.

Interesting read, I have anywhere from 150-200 bottles in my cellar. Most of them are bombers. I do believe some beers benefit from aging. The when it's gone, it's gone psychology does factor in. I also think a lot of this hoarding could be alleviated if the breweries would release in 12oz bottles instead of bombers. More bottles in theory would mean more people get these rare releases. I personally find myself sitting on bombers because I don't want to consume the whole thing. More bottles in the 12oz format would be a win-win in my eyes.

I read that article yesterday as well. Lots of good points. I have way too many "special occasion" beers just sitting in my beer closet. I'll probably start knocking them off week by week. There will always be more to take their place.

I was just about to make a comment about how they then couldn't charge $15 for 22 oz bottles, but then I remembered the $7.50 12-oz bottles of Prairie Bomb I have at home

I agree with this. I'd rather have 3 or 4 12oz bottles of a special release than a bomber or two. That way I can enjoy alone or share depending on the circumstances.
