I believe the online LSU MBA is an executive type MBA. When I inquired about it, they made it seem like I would be considerably younger than most who enroll. I am in my late 20's for reference. I can't remember where I read this, but I recall seeing that the the LSUS program is the same as the brick and mortar program offered at LSU. Take that FWIW

Is there an area of this thread or perhaps a different thread altogether comparing/contrasting the LSUS MBA against the LSU Flores Online MBA program?
Several of my teammates at work and my boss have completed the LSU Flores MBA program, though not the online one. They all did the on campus version. From what they've told me, it was an overall good experience but there were some courses / professors that were duds, which I believe you'll likely find with any program, including LSUS.
I know that the online LSU Flores MBA is much younger than the online LSUS MBA and I think this is reflected in the more limited elective choices. The LSUS program allows you to tailor the program more based on what you are interested in pursuing. Despite that, you can see a lot of overlap in the various course concepts if you compare both sets of course descriptions. I've linked the LSU Flores course list below and 3 LSUS concentrations, but there are others besides these.

Online LSUS MBA - General Business
Online LSUS MBA - Data Analytics
Online LSUS MBA - Finance
Having said all of that, I would argue that the LSU Flores MBA carries more clout / respect / etc. than the one from LSUS among certain audiences. However, I think that advantage dissipates once you get out of Louisiana and the surrounding areas. The question is whether that advantage applies to the job market you are interested in and whether the cost of that potential advantage is worth it. I'll note here that my boss and one of my teammates who got their MBA from LSU are still paying off their student loans and they've both been out of school for more than 3 years. I won't have any student loan debt when I graduate next Fall.

Thank you all for your help with ECON 705. For some reason, it was not showing up as a class for me until I searched just for "ECON". There was one spot left for Shaughnessy so I grabbed it.

This leads to an important question: If a class is full, does it still show up in a search in MyLSUS?
Could it be that the class was full before and wasn't showing up for me?

If they are full I don't believe they show up. For example, MADM 715 showed up for me last week but when I searched yesterday it didn't

I have been reading this forum for a long time - well before I decided to enroll in the program in September. After I enrolled, I made my first post. While you can find an unpleasant exchange or two, everyone is usually cordial, friendly, helpful, appreciative, and free with information.
Let's all keep it that way.
We really do not need yet another social media outlet for ranting, name calling, negativity, and anonymous grandstanding.
It is up to every single one of us to keep this forum an asset for us all and for those to come.

Once, I went into the registration site a different way and queried. It returned all classes even the ones that were full-it showed 0 available. I do not remember exactly how I got there, but I think it may have been the mobile version of the site. I haven't had a reason to try that again, but there is a way to see it. I just cannot remember how.

From this compass (mylsus) homepage, don't log into your account. Select Course Schedules. From there you'll have a drop down with "Class Status." Selecting All or Full will show them.

Great post, DieDaily - to compare the LSU Flores (main Baton Rouge campus) on-line MBA and the LSUS on-line MBA.
I just returned from graduation weekend and was able to ask this very question to someone who works at LSUS. Their reply was that the only true difference in the program was $34,000 in cost. They also said the on-line MBA program is not a priority for the main Baton Rouge campus.
Take that for what its worth. I tend to agree with it. For me, who lives in Southern California, no one here cares about differentiating which LSU campus I earned my MBA at. I would argue that LSU is LSU for the rest of the country. I can see that it might make some difference locally in Louisiana, but many of the on-line students are from out of the area anyways so this is a non-issue for them.

I chose LSUS because of the cost. Sure LSU is the better ranked school, but I am from California, and when I say LSU- Shreveport, the employers just hear "LSU" anyways, so it wasn't worth the extra cost. Especially because there is some crossover with the professors teaching courses for both.

I have both professor's saved in my cart (James and TBA) for MKT 701, but would you guys recommend this course over taking MADM 701?
I haven't doubled up in classes for the last year, and don't think I really want to for this quarter since both seem to entail a lot of busywork.
Thoughts? It would be nice to get through the MBA program quickly, but with two full time jobs I already have no social life.

ashl3yc0x, totally agree with your post. I'm in Southern California as well and no one cares about the main Baton Rouge campus or the Shreveport campus. All they hear is "LSU" and that's it.
The academic quality of LSUS's program is just as good and possibly superior to LSU Baton Rouge's MBA program.
Just do the math: $12,500 or $46,000. An MBA is meant to enhance our business skills. So the math here says we can save $33,500 by attending LSUS. Now that's a good business decision!

I just leave it at LSU when talking with friends out here in SoCal. Even if I tried to explain LSUS they'd only get confused. And wouldn't care either way.
