FIN 710 just posted. For future reference Hsiegh does not curve!!!! Not even half a point! Earned my first B of the program....
That sucks GSMBA16. Wonder if he took as hard of a stance with those that didn't know the exam closed on Saturday instead of Sunday.

Anyone happen to have a copy of either book for MADM 751 with Meeks? Just got this via email for the FALL AP1 course:

I'm taking MADM 701 for AP1 and you are right! Her emails are downright scary. Best of luck to you!

What do you guys think of the new Moodle re-design? I think I'm going to like it. Nice that it's mobile phone friendly, unlike the old version.

I am a fan. It's definitely more user friendly. One thing I wish LSUS would implement was a smartphone app that allowed you to check your various student systems. I attended ULM for undergrad and the app they had was very convenient. For example, it had options for Future Students, Athletics, Weather, News, Calendar, Courses, Moodle, and Student Email.

Hey Everyone,
I am new to the boards but just finished up ECON705.I took BADM 700 and 701 last spring . I have Vines next with FIN701. I was looking ahead trying to lay out my classes and was wondering if anyone has had HCAD 750 I think it is new but am unsure. I will have a choice between it, FIN720, MADM 715, MADM730, or MKT 705 in spring AP2. Any advice on any of these classes?

Other than MADM715 and FIN720, those are all new for the spring. I had MADM715 last spring. It was one of my favorite classes. An exam every week and a virtual presentation toward the end of session. The exams were tough, but the material is interesting so studying for it wasn't too bad.

Does anyone know about how long it takes for Financial aid to be "credited" after you complete all the requirements? I'm assuming that they just do an EFT to you acct correct for any overflow.

I'm in MKT701 with the new guy for AP1, what does everyone who is in this think? From what I've read, it looks like a definite improvement over James. Doesn't seem like it will be all that much work either (at least not a whole lot of busy work).

For AP1, any remaining financial aid should be credited to your account the day after the census date (9/5), and will be released by the school the following day. The funds should be in your bank account by that Friday (9/8).

Thanks for saying something vantix! I haven't ordered my books yet because the last class I had with Meeks he provided the textbook via Moodle. I haven't heard of anyone on this forum having these texts...

Hey brentb71,
Would you say that MADM 715 exams were tougher than MADM 701 exams? Or are they about the same?

I'm just taking MADM 701 now so I don't know. It was all MC and used Proctorio. They all tend to be going away from terminology type questions and more applied situational stuff. I finished with a 92 and hoovered around that on each exam. Some people posted in the class forum that they thought it was hard and the only B they had in the program.

Thanks for the information on 715! I started reading the chapters for Vines 701 and there is so much more that is covered in the book than on his reading guide. Does he venture away from the reading guide for his test? Im worried I will spend to much time concentrating on the wrong things.

Couldn't agree more with your post. Began reading the chapters and there is quite a bit of material. Hard to believe from all the chapters There will only be 10 questions.

Focus on the reading guide and you'll be fine. That's where the test material will come from. The tests are more conceptual than actual problems. I took the class summer AP1 and most problems I had on any given test was three. Vines is good about answering any questions and has Zoom sessions several times a week

I thought Vines was great

signa, this will be the 2nd time I take Vines. Focus on the reading guide. Highlight key points. What I mean is if you're looking at the guide that covers test 1, he states that he doesn't like the books definition of risk but he defines it as something turning out much differently than expected. Also he gives his definition of EVA and MVA. Highlight things like this. Also, he'll host several chat sessions leading up to a test, attend them. Vines is a great professor who requires you to put in the work without you really knowing that's what you're doing.
