Is pairing acct 701 and fin 701 a good idea? is it manageable?

You'll be fine. Should be little to no busy work between the two. Just reading and quizzes/tests.

How is everyone's last week of courses going? Can't say I'm not ready for mine to be over

Meh... Trying to pull an "A" in FIN710 but I'm not feeling the material this module. Lots of different topics going on and ready to be done. Hopefully I can get energized before Saturday.

I agree about ECON and I'm in the same boat as you. I've done the video quizzes and the self assessment already. Just need to take the last assessment but I will finish with an "A." I'm ready to see how ACCT and MKT are going to be.

I think splitting the pre-requisites is a great idea. An MBA is a master's level degree for business students. If you don't have a business degree you should be required more than two courses for admittance. Just my opinion.

Finishing up my first 2 courses with Econ 705 and MADM 760. Still have a good bit of, a.k.a. all of, my synthesis paper for 760 to write. I am pretty secure with my 705 grade unless something crazy happens. Just a matter of getting it done.

How strict is the grading on the 760 paper? I feel like meeting the word requirement is the most important factor for Meeks.

I submitted my synthesis paper this past weekend. I made sure to go over the required word count just a bit. Just be sure to meet the word count for the 1. Abstract 2. Body 3. Justification as well as having 5+ sources using APA format. I can't imagine he is going to all of a sudden be a difficult grader after seeing how lenient he was during the course.

I can't wait for ECON to be over with. I have to seriously bomb this week to miss an A, but I'll be glad to be done with this prof.

I wouldn't actively avoid him, but I can't say I've enjoyed the class format and his refusal to open any video quizzes over a weekend.

I'm very much looking forward to FIN701 where I can study when it's convenient to me.

Shaughnessy hasn't been bad, but I agree. I'm not a fan of Modules opening on a specific date. I'd prefer them all open at once for convenience. You'll enjoy Finance for sure. Wasn't hard at all and Vines is awesome.

Jeaux,

Make sure you also included a 500 work section explaining how you incorporated what you learned into the paper. Meeks emailed the class about it this morning.

I emailed Meeks about it last night, as he had only mentioned it in the video directions for the paper, but nowhere else. He did confirm that it is required. So paper is 100-250 word abstract, 2,000 word body, and 500 word explanation.

I forgot about it at first, but added one before submitting. My abstract was around 175 words, body around 2200 words, and justification around 560 words. Definitely glad to be finished with it.

Finished my Synthesis Paper over the weekend as well (think mine was 3300 words total). Definitely glad to be finished with that and only have left a little bit of group work on our canvas to finish up an A hopefully.

Looking at taking either ISDS705 (Lin) or MADM720 (Williams) AP2 this Fall. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which is better/more interesting? They would both be taken as an elective as i have already taken ISDS702. Thanks in advance!

We are tackling the team canvas tonight. I have no clue where to start with it honestly.

Jeaux, we started a canvas through google docs so anyone could just go in and add bits and pieces when they wanted. Im just not sure what he wants us to write about on the 1 page followup

The canvas took me 90 minutes or so to complete. I feel very strongly about the content. I'm jealous of you who are done your papers.

The paper was easy once I got started. I've never had to do a canvas before nor am I familiar with it so I'm not sure how to approach it

Been a good while since I've had to write a real paper with sources, much less use online sources that I need to list APA style. Then explain myself again with another 500 words of BS. I'm not crazy about Meeks's style like everyone here seems to be. But I should end up with an "A" unless I screw up royally, so I guess I can't complain too much.

The canvas seemed like a tall task at first. Once you sit down and research what each part requires, it sort of fills itself out. Learning about the canvas structure is the longest part.

Just got accepted into the program. Looking to take two courses this semester? What courses do you recommend? Also, I see that many have talked about having an electronic textbook, if you could email me this to multis10@yahoo.com

Thanks
