I agree. If it's part of making a move for Love it could work out because you'd end up with cap space and a core that would interest top level FAs. Outside of that it seems like overpaying to fill 1 hole while creating another hole just as big. That's part of why I think this rumor is BS.

As far as future picks for Phoenix goes, I'd trade our 2015 for #18, but not #27 unless they were taking Gordon which they wouldn't be. McNamara says he has heard that Detroit 'LOVES' Kyle Anderson (#25 on draft express right now), so if #18 (our 2015 1st) + Gordon gets you a S&T of Monroe without trading Ryno, it seems like a no brainer. Then you've dumped Gordon and can turn Ryno into a SF, or keep him and see if the offense outweighs the horrible defense when he and Monroe are on the court at the same time. It can't be worse than Ryno + Lopez but the rebounding and offense should be better.

I think this is more about how aggressive Dell is being.

Which could be a ruse in and of itself. Make the Celtics think they should take the Gordon for Jeff Green deal or they'll lose the chance for Embid to fall to them.

Watch nothing happen

We pick up a MLE SF and stick with the centers we have. This board will implode.

That is what happened at the trade deadline. Demps tried like hell to make chicken salad out of chicken shite, but in the end it was an impossible task.

I'll give it until the end of this season before I lose hope in him. I want to see how the team he has assembled plays when healthy. Hopefully

Tbh i think we'd be just fine with a solid SF and perhaps a decent cheap bruiser(not steamshite type tho)

I hope to god no other fans come on here and here yall talking about the pels signing LBJ.

Step 1. Trade everyone not named Davis or Evans for Kevin Love.
Step 2. Convince LBJ to opt in for one year with the Heat
Step 3. Sign LBJ and a bunch of cheap, but still useful vets next off season.
Step 4. Finally convince c on z to become an actual Pelicans fan.
Step 5. Chamionships

You know what joke has run its course and then some?

"We'd trade (player) for (inanimate object)."

Are there really rumors of Dell trying to bring in Love, or is it just speculation?

I haven't seen any official rumors. even if there are I give this a negative 5% chance of happening

I hope not

Because that's exactly what is going to happen

Except maybe grab a FA center. Other than that you might have nailed it.

This is the problem with having a GM under severe pressure - the temptation to make short term moves. They knew when they traded 2 lotteries for Jrue that they would be in this position.

What happened to the 2nd round pick this year?

We traded it to Minnesota in 2009 as part of the Darius Songaila deal.

Bower mortgaged the future for Darius Songaila.

Didn't read all the posts. How can we possibly do this? Is this anything more than misinformation?

I don't think the board will implode. I think everyone expects it.

We all want Gordon gone, but not sure how to make that happen right now. I think we get a MLE SF and try to sign Asik next year. Or we buy a late pick and get P Young.

It seems pretty unrealistic and would probably take trading Holiday. I can't imagine Demps gutting the roster for a rookie especially a high risk one like Embid, so it would have to be part of a move to go after a bigger star like Love. McNamara suggested it could be an unsuspected move like Holiday was last year, say Memphis is looking to hit the reset button and you can get Gasol for a top 5 pick. I really don't think the odds are high of such a big move happening, but I'd have never guessed we'd have traded for Holiday either.

Love isn't a center. Neither is anthony Davis. You can't play 2 people at the power forward. Trading for love would be stupid.

Neither is Tim Duncan, but we just watched the Spurs win with Duncan playing 5 quite a lot

Not sure where to put this, but a few days ago Pierre Jackson tweeted this vague and easy to interpret how you want statement:
