This whole thing doesn't make sense. We traded an injured 1st round Center (Noel) and a 1st round pick this year to get Holiday. Now, some taking heads are speculating we're trying to trade into the top 5 (which will require trading Holiday as part of a package deal, more than likely) to draft an injured Center (Emblid)...sounds like a Dell Demps type move to me.
Remember: The noel pick was for philly
I think it'll be EG+Ryno+Future 1st(2015?) for a top 10.

The question then becomes, do we even keep the top 10 pick we just acquired or send it elsewhere for a vet?

Well Embiid's way better than Noel.

I suspect it would not. Aside from the surefire ad and buddy's son rivers, we seem averse to draft picks.

Gordon's a negative in trades so it's basically, Ryno(who's coming off a serious injury) and a future 1st. Not way too much IMO.
Can the Lakers take that amount of money back(aren't Kobe and the ghost of Nash the only real thing on their books)? I know they want young vets cause Kobe needs to be the 7-8 seed next year.

This "rumor" is pure BS. The guy does not even cover the NBA and I do not think he is from the US. Regardless, common sense will tell you it is ridiculous to even suggest. I think he is just screwing with some followers.

They should just get a pick late in the 1st on the cheap. Pick up a Mitch mcgary or cleanthony Thomas or both and call it a day
If Demps keeps trying to play Rubix cube with this roster and starts dealing some of the "core pieces" he acquired then we are fricked. He'd be taking a step forward and two back at this point

I doubt it happens. Unless it's a criminal jacking(Gordon, Pierre, and future 1 for a lottery pick or something like that) you're hitting reset and Demps/Monty aren't surviving another reset.

I think they were going to select him no matter what. I don't know exactly when the 76ers put the deal on the table...before or after the pick.

There's no doubt that he's talented, but so was a guy named Greg Oden. Two major injuries in one season gives pause for major concern about the guy's future.

Suns showing strong willingness to move 27th pick in draft for a future first-rounder, league sources tell Yahoo. Suns have 14 and 18, too.
#Gordon

I think the NBA has a rule in place to prevent trading back to back first rounders, right? It was made to save some dumb GM from himself years ago

They just do the trade after the draft. Then the Stepien Rule doesn't apply.

Well, with all the rumors, and there have been several, I can only assume the Pelicans are trying to make something happen. Whether it's a difference maker in the end we'll see. It does at least make this week a little more interesting.

Yeah, I think this is more about how aggressive Dell is being. There are rumors abound because Dell is calling everyone about everything.

Yeah. It's just so strange though. If any of these rumors are true, I have no idea who is conducting this train.
2013 = Trade picks and assets for proven young vets instead of waiting for rookies to develop
2014 = Move young vets to get lottery pick and wait on rookies to develop.
Right now, this core with health can be playoff caliber. They could do nothing but work around the edges, get better health, and win close to 50 games.

I don't know why they'd be taking it seriously
