I knew this was gonna be the TD4W button and I still clicked it. I don't know why but I did. And then I clicked the TD4W button a few times. I always do. Not sure what compels me but I always do.

Anyway....

Congrats to the young man!

This is great recruiting. Kid fits our system perfectly and is friends with a top WR.

I'm not stereotyping. Rivers and Rettig left cause they don't fit in to the direction LSU wants to play.

As for the tape.. I saw nothing that makes me think he's a pure pocket passer. Unless throwing deep 9 routes classifies " pocket passer ".

It's his accuracy that should jump out at you, whether he's throwing 9's, fades, outs, or crossing patterns (those are in his highlights as well if you look at more than one set). And while he needs work with progression reads, it's his willingness to go through them before breaking the pocket that makes him primarily a pocket passer.

No they left because they don't like the direction on the depth chart they were going.

What exactly is your basis for this assertion? Was Mett starting ahead of Bolden because he was was the better fit for the direction LSU wanted to play?

Could it be that maybe--and I know that this may be difficult for you to wrap your head around--juuuust maaaybe they were out-performed by those ahead of them on the depth chart? Maaaybe smart, successful coaches adjust their scheme to fit their personnel? Huh?

Nah, i'm sure it's your thing. That makes perfect sense that the coaches had better QBs in Rivers and Rettig but buried them on the bench because they wanted to "play in another direction."

Good commit. If he doesn't pan out at QB, he looks the part to play elsewhere. It's obvious the direction LSU is going at the position. If that's the direction, why was Dinklemann offered.

what makes him look the part, he didnt really show off a lot of his athletic ability on the tape.

All I'm saying is that IF this offer wasn't based strictly off of the kid and his abilities on the field, that it would be unfair to the kid in the the case that he may be asked to grayshirt(and I'm not assuming anything but its possible IF its a ploy for lodge) and it would be even more unfair if it took a scholarship from an in-state that may have been more deserving of it. Anyway, I'm gonna put my faith in Cam and welcome this kid to the fam. Lodge or not. Doesn't matter. I wish the kid all the success in the world.(in purple & gold of coarse)

The whole "the direction the staff was going" excuse for transferring is really saying "I want to see the field". Pre-Transfers, the passing ability of all our QBs was fairly close. However, Les has shown that if he isn't going to get a drastically better arm out of a pocket passer, he wants someone who can run.

People act like you have to rehaul your entire offense to play a Dual Threat QB. If that were the case, you wouldn't see guys with offers from every school in the SEC because the systems we run are so varied.

When did I say Rivers and Rettig were better? I said they left because LSU is going in a different direction. I think that makes sense as to why they left.

We needed a QB in this class badly and we got one. He's a winner and Cam is high on him so that should be good enough for everyone

Or they left because they realized pretty quickly that Harris and Jennings are just better? And both are really young, sophomore and a freshman.

If youre Rettig and Jennings is already ahead of you, and then Harris comes in as an EE and pretty much immediately jumps ahead of him... why would you stay to be a QB3 for your entire college career when you can transfer and have an opportunity to start somewhere?

I dont think its that we are going in a different direction when it comes to what kind of QB we like, I just think Harris and Jennings are better than both and are still extremely young.

Bingo.

Cam Cameron has and is going to bring some scheme stuff to LSU that we haven't had in awhile. However, people act like we are running an entirely new offense. Les is still the HC and he still likes to be a "best player" friendly offense, not just Dual Threat guys and not just Pocket passers.

A marginal QB in Rettig with no Lodge or a marginal QB with Lodge, which is better?
