Did Silver Ban Sterling from the NBA for life?

Yes or no?

Yes. That has nothing to do with his ownership.

That is ridiculous.

Look, I know you wanted the rich White guy to get punished. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

Sterling came out smelling like a rose. Karma then stepped in and now another rich White guy owns the team.

All he has to do is get this in a courtroom. The damage he can do is immense. Parading all the PC Police up there and listen to them all stammer is going to be a lot of fun.
Kobe Bryant explaining his remarks. Will Smith.Isiah Thomas. And then Silver having to explain the difference between what they said and what Sterling said. The NBA will be dragged through the mud face first.

My only issue with this debacle is the pitchforks and torches aspect of this. This big arse witch hunt of an old man saying dumb shite is one of the creepiest things I've ever seen be publicly accepted. It's bizzarre.

Obviously it is. They have a deal in place for that.

If the ban took away his ownership, then why did they need a 3/4 vote of the owners to take away his ownership? A vote which hasn't taken place by the way.

It's sad that you really believe that.

Really? Like what kind of damage?

Silver doesn't have to explain any of that. He's been commissioner for a few months. All the stuff you're mentioning took place under the prior regime.

Then the handover could be challenged.

I actually agree 100%. There should have been some dignified way to quietly shuffle him out the side door. Based on the interview I referenced earlier, he's just kind of a confused old dude.

But if he challenges the handover on the grounds that he is mentally incapacitated then she still is the sole trustee based on the fact that he is mentally incapacitated. If he challenges the mental aspect and wins, then he was obviously of sound mind when he handed over the team.

By who? He is going to challenge the fact that he gave her control?
