I was just about to find this thread...
About to put the "assignment" (first three episodes) in the OP. I guess this week we can pregame a bit, and still figure out how to address the discussion...seems like it was split on if we discussed throughout the week versus watching the episodes and then starting discussions the following week (when new ones are assigned).
I can see the benefit of both, and am good either way..and I imagine that people could sort of do it as they please. I'll prolly start off with steam of consciousness posts (similar to other shows I watch and post about), and then meld into the ongoing discussion afterwards.
I'm pumped about this and hope that I'll finally be able to pay attention better since I won't be waiting weeks/months for new episodes, and can hopefully finally understand what the frick is going on in this show.

OP edited to reflect the following:
- title change to "official" discussion thread
- first assignment (episodes 1-3)
- new episode discussion page number (TBD)
- a note to people who haven't seen the series but are interested in this thread

I'm fine if something gets spoiled. I finished episodes 1-3 and am moving on to 4 tonight. Unlike GOT where I am obsessed and freak out over spoilers, I'm just a casual watcher for Fringe.

That's cool, just tread lightly like I said, and you should be fine...it's usually pretty easy to tell when you should skip over a post of shite that you don't want to see. But the discussion, at least for a good while, shouldn't get into too much spoiler territory.

Episode 3: "The Ghost Network"

I watched the pilot over the weekend and I was shocked at how different the character voices/tones were. Peter trying to put down Olivia with "sweetheart" was awkward.

Just finished my first watch through last week so I'm down for discussion... One of the best shows I've ever seen
I think I'm gonna make a sig pic with Olivia wearing a shirt that says "Mrs. Whistlindixie"
She's real nice

Yeah I imagine there will be a lot of that for me. I think I've literally only seen every episode exactly once, when it aired.
I'm just glad that I'm looking forward to this...I remember a lot of times during its run, I'd not feel like watching it, so I'd have like three or four episodes on my DVR at a time to watch. But then I'd power through them in an afternoon and be back onboard. So with this being three episodes per week, with solid (let's hope) discussion in here, that's motivation for me to be into the show more than I was before. Because I'm not kidding when I say I was sort of lost at times during the later seasons as to what all was happening because I couldn't remember earlier shite (because I wasn't as into it).

Episode 1: "Pilot"
Pretty sure I haven't watched this since it aired. This should be interesting

I found it hilarious, but in a bad way. Yeah, this show knew where they were going from the get go.
Things to look for in the first 3 episodes:
1st episode:
2nd episode:
3rd episode:

Also for the first episodes the glyphs spell out:
1st episode:
Observer
2nd episode:
Child
3rd episode:
Aeger, which is "sick" in Latin
============================
For anyone that doesn't understand this, let me explain.
In each episode during the commercial break there was a glyph:
For instance is the first one you ever see, this one represents o
During the course of the show the glyphs spell out words which can give deeper meaning into the mythos and story behind the scenes every week.

Explain what those are...not only for people new to the series (like iluv), but for people who may not know/remember.
I remember discussing those back in the day, but them not meaning much to me.
Also, what is the "Then" for? Are there five glyphs, two of which are "Then"? Or are there three glyphs (Observer, Child, and Aeger) that you separated by using capitalized "then"s..?

I may need a few days to recover from GOT before I get started on this
