It seems to me that it is. I'd love to hear from those on the left of the aisle and see if you agree.

If it's not the most important issue to you, what is?

TIA.

Abortion, gay rights, affirmative action. The liberal trinity.

Lol no it's been legal for 40 years. It's the one's on the right that are obsessed over it.

you would consider me left.

And its not my top issue in the slightest. Not sure I would have a top issue.

I think maybe reduce defense spending would be number 1. Either that or banking reform. But there are probably 20 things above it IMHO, if not 50.

My wife would definitely disagree. its probably her number 1 issue, although she really hates those drones, and keystone XL.

I'm a pretty left-leaning guy and I couldn't give two shits about abortion. I'm not very religious and I don't have a uterus, so the way I see it, I don't really have a dog in the fight.

From where I sit it appears to be the #1 issue for many conservatives as well.

Not sure I have a #1 issue. Prison reform, bank reform, welfare reform, cutting defense spending, improving education, and campaign finance reform are a few I find important.

I am a moderate Dem while my wife is way left and abortion is not an issue to either one of us. conservatives cant seem to put it down but hey they have to have something to say on sunday when they go to church.

Liberals own all the key socio-political issues:
1. abortion/women's rights
2. gay rights
3. minority rights
4. economic rights/inequality
5. immigrant rights/amnesty

This is why they have a lock-step/guaranteed 47% of voters every election so all they have to do is attract 3 or 4% of independents/swing voters.

Not even close.

Our growing plutocracy and wealth inequality.
The military-industrial complex and excessive military spending.
Lack of infrastructure investment.
Warmongering.
Separation of church and state.
Health care.
Poverty.

All much more important to me than abortion.

It's been legal in every state for 40 years, so no.

In individual elections if the counterfactual is that women can avoid pregnancy if they did not enjoy their rape, then yes, abortion is and SHOULD BE the single most important political issue to those on the left.

Criminalizing abortion is a silly pipe dream...it will never happen, I'd bet my life on it.

It's the right who need to stop trying to fight losing battles on abortion and gay marriage and need to focus on real issues like the economy.

I work with a Leftist woman and she said that abortion rights were the main reason she was supporting Obama's election. She said that the country couldn't afford to lose abortion rights and she would be so overwhelmed with grief if Obama lost, she wouldn't be able to make it to work the next day.

She confided in me that she spends $1500 a month in drugs to help stabilize her emotions. Shocking.

I've talked to some liberals who said they would gladly trade in roe vs wade in exchange for overturning citizens united.

It varies.

Let's be real about this: the GOP/right wing folks (for the most part) want to get rid of abortion under any circumstances, but when these kids are born, it's "you're on your own".

It makes no logical sense. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
