I think I just didn't like cold, sugary ham. I got some nice quality ham recently, and it was a awesome blend between bacon and a pork chop.

Never liked it, either.

Just every once in a while I get a craving for a ham sandwich with mayo and creole tomatoes on Bunny Plantation bread. I never usually eat white bread(didn't grow up on it) but it is a damn fine treat. Shisesi makes a very good ham and I do like Honeybaked. It is one of those every six month cravings I get.

Good quality, not-pineapple or maple ham with a strong, spicy coleslaw on Hawaiian bread.

Maybe some pepper jack cheese.

And a beer.

Sounds like you were introduced to country ham.

OP sounds like a country ham which is a cured and not cooked product. Give us the scoop on this piece of meat.
