Gurley and Marshall were beasts last year before injuries. They also lack the deep threat of Murray now though.

Gurley on 70% at best returning on the bad ankle came back and ran for 539 yards at 5.85 ypc and 6 TDs with two of those games being QB'd by Mason. He also caught 30 receptions for 399 yards and 5 TDs in that same span. In all honesty, the bum ankle and lack of WRs due to injury, made him a complete RB. He had 938 yards and 11 TDs from scrimmage playing hurt. A hurt Gurley is still the best running back in the country. It will be a travesty if he doesn't go first round. There are no durability issues. Dude had a freak injury against LSU that hampered him during the year. If you watched those games, they should have still went undefeated after he came back.

well I am so happy for them, if they didn't like their backs, they certainly should have never recruited them...
As far as da dawgs & gumps are concerned, they have some absolute beasts at the RB position...

When it is all said and done, Auburn will lead the conference in rushing again sans Tre Mason. One thousand yard rusher coming back in Marshall, new 5 star RB signed, and senior RB who had 2000 yd season at Cali JUCO. They may not lead the nation in rushing like last year, but I expect them to lead the conference.

LSU's backfield has great potential, but Alabama and Georgia are better right now. We will see how the freshmen play for LSU.

I would rank us and Bama above Arkansas any day.

Take off the P&G glasses. You could make a case for LSU over Arky, but Yeldon, Henry, Drake is a three headed monster.

I would argue that Gurley, Marshall, Michel, Chubb is the best group in the nation. Bama, LSU, Auburn, and Arky all have great RB talent. The SEC will be fun this year.

UGA definitely has the best group in the country and Bama may have the 2nd best. If Fournette comes in a lives up to the hype LSU could be right there with them.

Take out LF and LSU has VERY mediocre talent at RB. TM is a good backup in the SEC, but he's a below average starter. And he's our second best back if LF does what we all expect.

Now, if LF works hard and learns the offense, LSU could have the best running back position in the nation. But that's because you can only play one.

Magee averaged 7.3 yards per carry last year....

He is a very good running back.

Neither Collins or Williams for Arkansas averaged over 6.0 per carry last year.

not saying we dont have a great backfield and idk what the pigs have but...Bamas three (Drake,Henry, and Yeldon) will be pretty nasty and hard to stop...this is prolly the only good thing coming back for them on that side of the ball.
