Personally me being against it doesn't mean I have the right to tell women what to do.
My solution put it up for a vote by all the women in the country and the result becomes the law.
IF it is the taking of an innocent life, why do you not have the right to tell a woman that she cannot take innocent human life?
Putting that to vote by women only, would be the same as putting the womans right to vote to a man only vote.
In each case you are putting the rights of one group into the the hands of another group that may have an interest in limiting those rights.

Just because one is a parent or expecting does not make one a moral authority on this nor does one's religious projected morality apply to strangers

Truth, my biggest objection to it is the toll on the living..It destroys people, flat out destroys them...

A fetus remains a baby as long as it's connected to it's host.
We agree.
Thus abortion is murder.

Dude, I'm gonna be digging a hole in my yard in a little while, and, well, I'd really appreciate it if you would crawl in there right before I start filling that sucker back in.

So if a "fetus" isn't a baby until it is seperated from the host completely, would you be comfortable with a baby being delivered and before they cut the cord, a doctor pulls a pistol and blows it's brains all over the floor?
It's still "connected" to the host.
It's still "connected" to the host.

I just spent a few weeks in NICU with my girl that was born a couple months early. I was surprised how well babies do at a very early age, esp girls at 20 weeks and beyond. Go look at any good NICU around the country and it will blow your mind how many weeks they are, and how well they do. Mine never needed oxygen, they just used nasal cannulus at a flow rate on room air, kind of like CPAP. The one behind us at C-section did die, but I was definitely amazed with how resiliant these little babies are...They are fighters, and have that will to live...
how dare you bring medical facts or experiences in here.
i posted in another thread that my wife is an OBGYN. she recently had a patient whos baby was forced to come out (for whatever reason), around 20 weeks. when she birthed the baby it breathed and lived for about 60 seconds, even had a little cry. Keep in mind that its the size of your hand. in a couple more weeks it would have been viable. so who is to decide that its ok to kill something when its going to be viable in a matter of days or weeks?
unfortunately this is a debate that will probably never end.

When can it live without connection to a woman's body.
Can we extend this argument to any entity that is relying on external means to sustain life?
So, someone fully reliant on a respirator could be considered to be nonhuman?
smh

and that sort of thing happens as you well know.
Not with anyone who has a conscience.
indeed. Few people give a shite about these sorts of things until they are too late.
How many freshly born babies do you take care of now?
Im sure the answer is none...which makes you all talk...and little action.

Such a sweet sentiment from a new guy to the board.
I look forward to many long discussions with someone of your obvious intellect.

Now. None. I've taken care of three since I cut their cords. Get a freakin life.

So, you as a man, trying to force all women of the world to give birth whether or not they want to.
Will do not one damn thing for said babies when they are safely out of the womb.
Typical.

Just like women wanting an abortion didn't think to take precautions? So, now that it's too late not to get pregnant, well, better go get that abortion, huh?

Wow, what a great answer. That definitely will give me something to ponder over.

Maybe if more people wouldn't be so against teaching said women all over the world to keep their legs closed until they are ready to accept the responsibility of raising a child, you wouldn't get so tore up about the unwanted ones not being taken care of.
Hypocrite much.

No. No woman should be forced to give birth, IF she was forced to get pregnant. Now, if it was her own poor planning and lack of decision making skills, well, she is at fault.
