There really is nothing that liberals fear more than gay republicans and black republicans. It throws all of their social, emotion-based talking points out the window.

Lol.

They really don't give a shite about him. They just want to look more educated and refined than republicans are. A gay republican screws that up. Can't have that. I hope he stands up to this bigotry.

I just read the entire piece and this is the part that really pisses me off if true...

quote:

For instance, The Victory Fund, which is a group that says it supports any openly gay candidate, first told him that he couldn’t win when he was considering running for mayor in 2008 against the now disgraced former winner of that contest, Bob Filner.

The Victory Fund not only declined to endorse DeMaio, it’s common knowledge in San Diego that it then gave his confidential campaign information to the Democrats and bragged about it. The Human Rights Campaign also has declined to endorse DeMaio in either his mayoral or congressional race.

Yeah that's pretty shitty and hopefully groups like that will be 'outed' as hypocrites and nothing more than an arm of the Democratic party. Its a shame because it tarnishes the good groups out there that really do care about promoting gay candidates regardless of party.

If they're going to get into the business of politics and promote and advocate for a Special group of people, then they really shouldn't endorse candidates but rather just promote those people they say they're about and make sure their message is heard regardless whether its content is dem or GOP leaning. But there's no money to be made off doing something like that though.

DeMaio REFUSED to speak out against Prop 8. It's no surprise the Tea Party Republican is not getting a lot of love from CA's gay community.

Screw him.

This is hysterical considering democrats weren't all in on gay marriage until Obama uttered those magic words and they and you still supported them like they could do no wrong.

I went all day today without saying the n-word. And I finished reading a book.

None of the Republican members of my family are capable of such educated and refined feats. Unless you count Guns & Ammo as a book.

frick you.

I understood economic concepts that are intuitively obvious to a third grader. No dem is capable of that.

Liberals are like cancer. I saw the cover of Texas Monthly the other day, asking if "Wendy Davis and the Castro brothers could turn Texas blue - can anybody?" Texas is highly successful. Anybody normal would think "Hmm, maybe they should continue doing what they are doing." Instead, there are people who think introducing a tumor, liberal democrats, would be a good thing. It's the same thing as saying "Look at that strong successful person, he really needs some lymphoma."

The quickly approaching days where 99.9 percent of republicans couldn't care less about sexuality scares the shite out of liberals. Like DeMaio said, they need a boogeyman.

The day where 99.9% of republicans don't care about homosexuality will never come unless the majority of the current religious right simply ceases voting republican.

The republicans have hitched their wagons to the social conservative movement and seem content to go with that as the democrats continue winning elections and burning the country down around them.

I'm a religious conservative. I don't care what you do with your pecker or anus. It's yours. Do what you want. It's between you and your maker. However, don't twist my arm and make me get on my knees to force me to celebrate your buggery. As GHWB would say, "Gnat ghana haaapen. Gnat at this juncture."
