Ford and Lee are definitely some of the medical question marks of the draft.

Hoodoo's thread on players 2013 performance grades.

Junior graded out -0.1 in run defense, just a notch below average.

Ford seems like another Bruce Irvin type.

Exactly. I wouldn't take the chance in the 1st round...but some team in desperate need of sacks might.

He actually reminds me a lot of Galette. I wouldn't be surprised if he took a similar(if not a little accelerated) career path, outside of draft position that is.

Situational pass rusher that blossoms into an every down player, but will never be great in coverage and maybe average against the run.

Not sure how he will ever do in coverage, but he already is better than Galette against the run IMO.

He would be a pure 3-4 OLD pass rushing specialists.

He actually is pretty comparable to Galette. An undersized player that is a really good pass rusher with great moves and possess enough strength to bull rush as well.

And even though we have seen him mocked to us a good bit, I dont think we take him. Like people said, hes a 1 trick pony and even that trick is questionable due to certain limitations. The only LBs I see us taking in the 1st round that we could have a legit shot at taking with the 27th pick would be Moseley and Barr.

Moseley is a top 15 player in the draft and too good to pass on. He just plays a position that isnt a huge need / value for a lot of teams similar to the S spot. Which is why he has a shot to drop to us at 27.

And Barr would be a 3-4OLB pass rusher as well, but he possesses way more talent and size than Ford does. Barr has the potential to be 1 of the best pass rushers in the league. And hes a legit 6'5 255lbs and runs a 4.6 in the 40. The dude played RB his 1st 2 seasons at UCLA. That alone should tell you the kind of athlete he is. He just kept growing and growing. He has the athleticism and size, but is a little raw due to his inexperience at the position. But his potential is off the charts.

Because what we really need to spend a first round pick on is a situational pass rusher.

I agree, but it worked out pretty well for Seattle with Irvin.

Irvin only has 10 sacks in 28 games played... Not like hes tearing it up. And when Seattle drafted him, they really didnt have a pressing need for them to take in the 1st. A team that is loaded and without any real weakness has the luxury of being able to take a guy like Irvin.

And its not like we arent set at a lot of positions, we have a very good roster. But we do have a pressing need at the WR spot and perhaps the CB spot as well.
