So, just how many of his games have you watched? Also, in the games you watched how much of it was spent only focusing on Clowney, and how he performed? Did you only watch this year, or his freshman and sophomore years too?

Link? The worst he's done at USC is get two speeding tickets.

Spurrier also had to repeatedly tell Clowney to slow it down in practice so the offense could actually run the plays. People forget about that.

Clowney also got better throughout the year with knocking down passes. He was getting double teamed so often he evolved his game and added another element because he couldn't get to the QB as easily.
He also had 9 QB hurries this year compared to just 5 the previous. He was still a beast this year, just didn't show up on the fancy stat sheet.

I'm not really riled up. If you'll reread my post I'm clearly just responding to opinions in this thread with facts. We're talking about Clowney going to Houston and I thought, since one of Watt's strengths in knocking the ball down at the LOS, that I would mention Clowney has improved that part of his game as well.

Can you give me some examples (facts) of how Clowney has "serious" character and motivation issues? I think not, and that's why you resorted to the basic "U mad" response.

I think he ends up playing as a stand up pass rusher a lot . Crennel has always loved the big OLBs. Regardless I'm excited as a Texans fan

Comparing a few Gamecock fans offering our stance on Clowney and how he will do in Houston should not be compared to some FSU fan sticking up for a player that at the time was under investigation for rape.

This is a thread about Clowney, a USC player, should we not be allowed to comment? I would think some Houston fans would appreciate our input since we watched every single game he played in, not just whatever ESPN chose to show on the 30 second highlight reel.

When the play goes away from Clowney, he is out of the play no matter what. You can admit that right?

When he gets doubled, he gets mentally worn out and can take himself out of the game.

You should be. With you also being an A&M fan I'm sure its your dream for Manziel to get drafted #1 overall there but Clowney should be a beast alongside Watt.
I didn't keep up with Houston too much this past season but I know another former USC player and Clowney teammate, DJ Swearinger, had a pretty good year. Johnathon Joseph has also been a big player for y'all, though perhaps not that great last year.

Not really. He chased a lot of RBs down from behind and he's always at least running to where the action is.

Not moreso than any other player I'd say. It's just highlighted more with Clowney.

Actually the exact same things were said about Mario. They are actually very similar, minus the Clowney hype. I think Clowney is a better athlete, but they are very similar.

Meh. Not really. There is a lot of footage of this being inaccurate.

But there is a lot of footage of his making incredible plays. He is a big play guy.

ETA: Meh, not really about the always running to the play. He has chased down RBs a lot going the other way, but that's mostly because he is unblocked on those types of plays. Any assemblence of a block, and the play going the other way = shut down.

I like this. Plenty of solid QBs will be there in the second. There isn't some superstar QB in this draft IMO.
