I was thinking about doing one of my own (not to step on your toes), but have 8 posters picking in 4 team bubbles.
i'm 1 of 8. I gave you a team and you didn't even request it.

i don't care what particular teams though or however you set it up.

I'll do it, depending on when it takes place.

lester should play so we don't have a predictable draft and his intel provides acute prognostications.

I'll play in that one as well.

One where we pick screwball selections (a.k.a. bucking conventional wisdom and pick how certain teams usually pick) would be fun too.

Chad if I may have a reason for the veto after I give my reasoning for the pick, here is my case.
LINK
"Statistical analysis shows that running back production historically drops off by 15 percent at age 28, 25 percent at age 29, and nearly 40 percent by the time running backs hit age 30."
LINK
Lynch hits the cap for $7m this year and $9m next year. That's a shite ton for a HB nowadays, especially one that's historically set to start slowing down. On top of that, he is a FA after next season anyway.
Looking at all the other guys they are about to have to pay, it makes sense to get younger and cheaper there.
And yes I know the have two other guys, but they are NOT in the Lynch mold. Both are right around 5'10", 220lbs. and are speed and finesse backs.
LINK
Hill is the second ranked back here(I have him as the top back, especially if you are looking for a power back). He's often projected to go in the 2nd round and he likely won't be there for the Seahawks at the end of round 2.
With all the WRs I was looking at gone, I turned my attention to my top needs not just for now but also for the future. Power running is a HUGE part of Seattle's game and I decided that the best path to go was to make sure I got a guy for the future, and getting him in the first ensures that I have him for 5 years instead of 4.
So I definitely didn't just throw the name out there with no reasoning.
Literally 2 picks before mine my boss walked in and decided we(not just me and him) needed to discuss things. I literally quickly typed his name in front of him when I saw it was my turn and I don't think he liked that.

The issue with the pick isn't who, what, or why you drafted it. It's where you drafted it given the teams needs.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I didn't like the pick because they already have Robert Turbin and Christine Michael.
Jeremy Hill wouldn't even see the field for a year or two.

They definitely need a power back for their offense, Lynch is edging towards 30 and only has 2 years left on an expensive deal, and this gives them fresh power legs for the next 5 years.
I was going WR but all the ones I wanted there were gone.
And as I said, Moses and SJ were up there with Hill, but I think a power back is more vital to their offense than an OT or a TE. They'll never be a pass first team.

quote:I also addressed this. Those are speed guys and they aren't a speed rushing team. Hill is a direct replacement for Lynch in a year or two and would start rotating in in those situations year 1(not much year 1 but around 50 carries).

In year 2 I may have to cut Lynch given his price tag and needing to pay Sherman, Thomas, and Wilson among others.
I don't think I can afford a $9m dollar back, $14m dollar CB, $12m safety, and a $20m+ QB.

For the rest, I assume there is a natural skepticism of anyone who picks an LSU "reach" on the board. That you're one of those "should we draft every LSU player ever" posters.

I applaud your justification. That's the kind of shite i wanna see tomorrow in my mock

Good work Chad from someone who didn't do the work and didn't complain about it

I actually don't care for LSU and Baton Rouge. New Orleans all the way.
I mended my post because hate was way to strong for how I feel. More like disdain or lack of caring at best.
Not a big college guy anyway.
