Just wanted to update this. My wife (SammichMaker) and I went back to Atomic Burger last night to give y'all another shot. We would have tried y'all again regardless, but your response on here sealed the deal for sure.

As for the food, we both thought the burgers were perfectly seasoned this time. She had the mushroom swiss, and I had a bacon cheese. Fries were great as well. No shake this time. Needless to say, we will definitely continue to support y'all. It's nice to see an owner be so honest about criticism in a public forum.

I tried it as well the other day.

Describing the shakes as fan-freaking-tastic is spot on. The burger (mushroom Swiss for me) was very good as were the fries. It's definitely the best option for a quick burger in Metairie and possibly the metro area, and it's not really a close competition. Sure you can find better burgers in at other places you'll wait for half an hour or more and pay more (sit-down places), but as someone else said it's not right to compare Atomic Burger to those places.

A good example of another place in the same market range is probably Lee's Hamburgers, and Atomic Burger blew them out of the water (I recently had a Lee's burger from their new place on airline and was underwhelmed).

Milksteak--the cute little blonde girl working the window the other day in the afternoon could not have been more friendly and polite. Please pass on my compliments for her good attitude. And the practice of giving people their milkshake while they wait for their burger to cook is brilliant. Nothing passes a couple minutes' worth of waiting like a delicious shake to suck down. Excellent idea from whoever came up with that.

Lnchbox, that's really great to hear. Many thanks to you and SammichMaker for the second chance.

TigersandFrogs, thanks to you as well for the business and for posting about your visit.

As a thank you to the FDB and to those who enjoy the shakes, I'll let you in on a little secret. We have some off-the-menu staff favorites currently available upon request: white chocolate raspberry, dark chocolate hazelnut, and root beer float.

FWIW I think Atomic Burger is a great burger option in Metry and the quality is much, much better than what the chain fast food restaurants offer that are on that stretch of Veterans. Definitely plan on going back soon and trying a root beer float shake .

Just finishing up here for the 4th time.

First two times were good, third time was awful and this time was on point. Burger was perfect and the fries were decent. The fries need some work as there were a bunch stuck together.

Went for lunch today for my 2nd visit. Figured I'd give it another shot after reading this thread. Burger was much improved this time. Might be the best fast food burger I've had, better than In and Out IMO. Would like to see some fat boy friendly options like double meat and chili cheese fries. Will try it again in a month or two.

I have seen people here beat down French Laundry, Prime rib, The best Oyster Po Boy NO has to offer and a hundred other things if that helps answer your question.

Can I get a coupon for a burger?

Do you deliver to Meridian, MS?

Thanks for responding.
