Zac attack is right, the Beetle/Jean thing is just beating a dead horse.

But my statement about this being a popularity contest is a very accurate statement.

Maybe. But, it's indicative of the central debate... sliding character powers. I said it before, it's a difference of one Blue Beetle not included who would have been out first round to Green Arrow and the included who apparently can beat an Omega level mutant, who has access to even greater power but doesn't get it.

Sure Jean won, but now it's breaking the tournament right?

Of course popularity is a component, it isn't the only one if apparently people have changed their minds on BB/WW.

Definitely seems like the DC people are more dedicated to their characters doing well. More inclined to dig up panels from the top feats of their characters.

I've gone with several DC characters over Marvel characters in the course of the contest even if they seemed closely matched if I thought the DC character would win it.

Of course, I think it's long been kind of established that overall DC have more ultra powerful characters as everyday walking around heroes (as opposed to being in deep space all the time). So I don't have a problem with a DC character winning it all.

Here's the deal: half the speed of light >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> speed of sound.

Do the math. Ole' boy yells - Black Bolt that is...

And...Wonder Woman, with her super hearing, senses the danger coming and darts around the oncoming sound, comes up behind him, and snaps his neck.

Fight over.

Wonder Woman wins easy.

That's why it's a bit ridiculous that apparently it's Marvel or Marvel fans screwing it up.

Yup. It pained me to vote WW over Cable, but it was the right choice. But I don't think WW powers get her a win over BB. At all.

Most of Marvel's characters have been unlucky, except for Iron Man. Surfer lost to Hulk, that was dumb (didn't break the tourney though, it is what it is). Strange had to face Thor, that sucked. Iceman went against Superman, kind of unfair in terms of popular perception. And Marvel left out some of it's big guns and limited others.

But there is only one set of powers for the Reyes character. He was never Ted Kord. Jean Grey has had multiple power fluxuations in her character. Reyes is the current Beetle, not Kord (who is no longer living in the DC world, and most likely will never be the Beetle again). And Reyes' Blue Beetle isn't all powerful, he just matched up perfectly to Jean since her Omega level power (non-Phoenix) is telepathy, not telekinesis.

But I am tired of arguing that point. It's been beat to death.

Wonder Woman moves OVER 440 THOUSAND TIMES FASTER Black Bolt's best attack.

I did the math.

It would be a slaughter. Wonder Woman wins before the fight even starts.

To me Marvel heroes are either a step or two below DC, or they are god tier in power rankings. It makes doing a crossover tourney extremely hard. I actually think we have done quite well so far, with only one ore two questionable outcomes, but that is just going to happen.

Villains might be a whole new ballgame, I feel Marvel hasthe edge. I can't wait for the Lex Luthor vs Magneto fight.

I'm no scientist, but theoretically BB's scream, while focused in one direction, also carries concussive waves out in all directions from him. Right? Isn't that how it works? I know I can hear another person scream even if they're facing away from me. If that's the case, she's pretty limited in how she can approach him, right?

And again, he can focus his energy inward and make himself impervious to damage, thereby rendering her offensively impotent.

And if the scream actually does hit her, she dead. Seriously.

I give the nod to Joker. If Batman can't take him down, how could Galactus hope to?

Not really, but we included every single DC hero with super strength+fast than light travel+super senses+healing factor. That was probably an issue. Marvel has a lot of those as well but we left out Quasar, the Guardian, Wonder Man, Sentry, Rogue etc. We had what, maybe Thor, Bill and Marvel Girl? And 2/3 are left. That says something.

I do too. That's why I don't like hearing that it's broken. Hulk vs. Surfer was Round 1 and that's still the most obvious WTF moment, even if Beetle was supposed to win. It is what it is.

She could hear his attack miles before it hit her, he'd still be exhaling thinking he was attacking and then be INSTANTLY dead.

He wouldn't have time to withdraw his power within himself.

Yup. It's still no question BB. This was one of the easiest matchups of the round. And it still is.

I mean, I've always assumed we were just dropping them in the octagon MMA style. Get out my face with that miles away garbage

If that's the case, Black Bolt is even worse off imo.

He's toast either way.

Do a test: Flip a light switch and exhale at the same time. How long was the light on before you finished exhaling?

That's how long Black Bolt would have been dead as soon as the fight started
