It IS awesome when JG slams it home after a TD, but, and it has happened before, there is the possibility of knocking the goal posts off kilter and delaying the game.

And let's be honest here. If the league was not as severe as it is with post TD celebrations, who knows what these, young, immature, hey everyone look at me types, would be coming up with.

I mean it's bad enough when these guys preen for the camera after making a routine play.

So I support the ban.

I still love ya Jimmy.

For once, I agree with you, Mr. Duncan. Good post.

But Gonzalez basically invented the goal post dunk, was never really a diva, and is certainly not young.

I get the delay issue, but frick the rest. The commercials take a ridiculous amount of time, yet a player celebrates for 10 seconds and it's the end of the world?

Again, dunking the ball and hanging onto the posts are two different actions.

I don't really care. I can't say I support the ban, but I'm not upset about it either. Honestly, I wish he wouldn't do the double bicep flex after a first down either, but whatever.

Watching a bunch of emotionless robots play football doesn't really seem that great to me.

My main issue with this is the slippery slope we are now racing down. Football is deteriorating yr by yr with all these rule changes.(obviously this td celebration isnt a serious example). Next year, there will be a "only fist pumps allowed as celebration rule.

As long as it's not vulgar, who. the. frick. cares.

Penalize the guy for delay of game if he bends the post and it actually causes a delay of game. THERE'S A RULE FOR THAT ALREADY.

The ban is pointless and overboard. Just make it a penalty IF and only if a player dunking a ball mis-aligns the goalpost. Problem solved.
