We'd need to know what funds, stocks, etc. you are invested in first.
Also, how old are you? How soon before you plan to retire?

I have been investing for 20 years in a company 401k. I have built up a nice nest egg, but .6% isn't going to get me where I need to be in 20 years. Should I stick it out or is there something else out there besides doing a 50/50 on black or red

Every year won't be like 2013, chap.

It's fricking march. Calm down.

Have you been getting 0.6% for the first 20 years? If so, you've definitely been doing it wrong.
If you got 0.6% for just the last month or so, chill. But we still need to know what your holdings are.

I am at 1%YTD. Pulled 21% for last year. My 401K

Hmm, you must be talking about YTD. I just looked up every fund you own and they all have had pretty good performance over the last few years. Except for PIMCO, which actually managed a negative return in 2013. Regardless, you should have seen a substantial annual return over the last few years.
If you're talking YTD, then you just have too high expectations. The market hasn't figured out what it wants to do yet this year.

I recently starting using a guy named Mark Karpeles for all my investments. Says he has a fool proof system

I usually invest my 401k in shell stock. I buy/sell dips and usually try and be in for 5% div....I've been doing this for 3 years and I have made 16% 21% 17% annually. U need a strategy

Trying to time the market is not a strategy. Dollar cost averaging is a much sounder strategy.

This.
BTW, nobody can guarantee a 10% annual return year over year.
