LSU could have hired Bruce Pearl, but apparently they thought he had too much baggage with the show-cause penalty and all of that. However, this program needed someone like him to shake it up.

So after having Trent Johnson as coach, and his nightmare recruiting, you would have been alright with LSU hiring a coach that wasn't even allowed to recruit.

Jones appeared to be a home run hire.
The older players pushed for it and were excited.
He recruited well.
I'm disappointed with this season, but I'm looking forward to the center play we'll get next year

You're talking like Pearl will get Auburn to the NCAA tourney next year. Coaching transitions take 3-5 years for a coach to get the team the way he wants it. If Pearl can get to 3 years without infractions, I'd be shocked. Johnny Jones will have LSU as a top team in the SEC next year which is year 3 for him.

He is a great coach, but he's a D-Bag. Will be a great hire for Auburn but Im happy to not have him.
Pearl is like the super hot slut that everyone thinks is awesome but you still know behind the scenes she is dirty as hell. Is it fun? Sure, until you catch gonorrhea.

Pearl has a long long history of NCAA infractions and breaking the code between fellow coaches....ill admit Id have loved to have pearl high energy fun guy who'd pack out the pmac but he's gonna bring problems for an athletic dept like auburn...they can't help themselves and neither can pearl and once he steps out of line other coaches will be ready to turn him in

I'm not at all. Jones will be fine. He's only been here 2 years. He overachieved last year and slightly underachieved this year. No need to be jealous of a school hiring a cheater.

Agreed. I wanted Pearl at the time we hired JJ, he would have been a great coach to stir up some interest in the program like he did at UT and like Dale Brown did here. But the jury's still out on JJ. Will be interesting to see which has more success. I'm usually wrong about coaching hires anyway.
