Also, isn't Cheryl a billionaire, or pretty close? She can just make her own record label and record music (like all the other rich girls do)..

Kruger put the mind control chip into her brain so that they could make money off of her fame.

Three thoughts:

It's almost like they ran out of ideas for the spy agency.

The dialogue and jokes this season don't seem as "organic" as before, just forced and out of place.

The Cyril/Cheryl/Pam/Krieger combo should always be secondary to the main archer/Lana/Malary plot.

This. Never lose sight of the main focus of your series. People have their likes and dislikes among the minor cast, but nobody hates Archer.

I just finished Season 4. I enjoyed it. I've heard Season 5 kind of blows (no pun intended).

I agree 100%. Pam needs to get fat again, Lana needs to not have a baby as that will be a disaster and totally change her character for good just as being pregnant has, and they need to get back to spying and out of the cocaine business.

I thought tonight's episode was pretty solid.

Definitely a better episode than the last couple. I loved just about all of the Archer/Cyril/Ray scenes. Them being in life threatening situations in a foreign country arguing with each other is when the show is at it's best.

Pam is garbage. As previously mentioned, more Ray and Cyril is needed

The new model didn't work

truth. Even the quality of jokes and running gags have slipped. Feels like a new writing crew

I've enjoyed the idea of this season more than I have the actual season.

Same. I even liked Pam being coked out, as she is funny as hell, but now they've played it out. Haven't seen tonight's episode yet, but hope it's a good one. I usually laugh my arse off during Archer, but not enough this season.

I think the problem with this season isn't the premise, it's the amount of time they spent pushing the background of Pam being coked out and Cheryl/Cherlene pushing her outlaw country career. Should have started earlier with Archer trying to prove he could push the coke.

Also, making Ron a pussy after he seemed like such a bad arse in that episode when he picked up Archer from Canada was kind of a downer. Seems like he could have thrived in the cartel from his boosting days.

Way too much Pam and not enough laughs. The coke addiction is rather boring at this point.

They went from being spys, to trying to sell coke. In theory it could've been cool, but like others have said, the execution wasn't all that good until last night when they focused more on Archer, Cyril, and Ray out in a jungle, being hunted down from people and animals alike, & arguing with each other (which is really when the show has always been at it's best); instead of on Pam's & Cheryl's plot lines.

Going to disagree with the consensus again.

Last night wasn't very good. The Archer/Ray/Cyril plot was fine but the rest of the gang spa day was horrible.

Other than the everyone getting zinged when they all realized they had sex with Pam.

Doing a Miami Vice/Vice City 80's theme with them selling coke and it looking like a crazy fun adventure. They showed a montage in the 1st episode and it looked great. Just hasn't materialized.
