I have a feeling that the bullet hole is going to come into play later this season.

Interview with Fuller about the episode.

Spoilers on the fate of Beverly Katz in the first few paragraphs. The rest is an interesting discussion at everything else that happened.

i'm glad he mentioned the fact that the series takes place in its own "world"...i've seen people comment that the show is too unrealistic, yet some of these same people have no problem suspending their disbelief to watch vampires, witches or dragons every week...i tend to look at every tv show or movie i watch as occurring in its own universe though.

Yeah.

It's really a gothic, horror opera. If anything the violence is too realistic and graphic.

We are much more used to shootings/stabbings etc. That happens on basically every drama on television. Human iris or totem pole? Not exactly standard operating procedure for serial killer shows

Goddamn what an ending.

I love the way Hannibal moves almost animal like.

Maybe...the bullet hole could just be there to show Hannibal was on top of her and she is 100% dead.

Yeah, I think that bullet hole may be the tipping point in the Jack/Hannibal fight they opened the season with.

Jack grows more and more suspicious of Hannibal but doesn't get all the way there until he sees the bullet hole and it all comes together.

Out of all the scary shite Hannibal has done, the aggressive, animalistic way he came at Beverly has to be one of the scariest images I've seen. If someone came at me like that, I might literally be paralyzed.

It's a shame this show is on NBC on Fridays. It's amazing in every way.

I just caught up on the show.

All I can say is, "WOW". I really hope they don't cancel it. This show will be so much more appreciated the longer it is on.

Seems like it is developing some attention so even if NBC cancels, I like the chances of it getting picked up elsewhere.

I mean shite, even the Killing got a second chance.

I just hope it gets 4 seasons. I think that's about the limit on when it would start to get stale.

The show runner has plans for 7 or 8 seasons, I believe. Starting with Red Dragon and moving through all 3 books after this season IIRC. Some problems with rights to SotL though, so who knows what they would do.

Based on what I've seen from this show, they can do whatever they want as long as they want and I will likely be pleased.

So I just came across some spoilers for episodes 6 and 7 and all I can say is holy shite.

*SPOILER ALERT*

*SERIOUSLY THESE ARE BIG SPOILERS*

*CONTINUE READING AT YOUR OWN RISK*

Episode 6 Futamono

quote:

SUSPICIONS RISE ABOUT HANNIBAL LECTER (MADS MIKKELSEN) WHEN HE THROWS A DINNER PARTY WHILE THE CHESAPEAKE RIPPER IS ON A KILLING SPREE AS EDDIE IZZARD GUEST STARS –

When a city councilman’s body is found in a parking lot, intertwined with a tree, the artistry and missing organs suggest the work of the Chesapeake Ripper. Jack (Laurence Fishburne) and the team race against time to catch the Ripper while he’s still on his killing spree. When Will (Hugh Dancy) suggests the possibility that the Ripper is filling his pantry with the victims’ organs, Jack crashes Hannibal Lecter’s (Mads Mikkelsen) dinner party to collect evidence and test the meat for human DNA. Jack’s growing suspicions drive Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) even closer to Hannibal, believing he is the victim of a witch hunt. Meanwhile, clues from the tree man help the BAU zero in on a location they believe the Ripper used. There they discover the most shocking revelation of Jack Crawford’s career—Miriam Lass alive.

Episode 7 Yakimono

quote:

WILL (HUGH DANCY) IS RELEASED FROM CHILTON’S (RAÚL ESPARZA) ASYLUM, WHILE THE DISCOVERY OF MIRIAM LASS, GUEST STAR ANNA CHLUMSKY, GIVES JACK (LAURENCE FISHBURNE) NEW HOPE IN FINDING THE CHESAPEAKE RIPPER

When Jack Crawford’s (Laurence Fishburne) star pupil Miriam Lass (Anna Chlumsky) is found alive, she becomes the FBI’s best hope to identifying the Chesapeake Ripper, but her foggy memory complicates the search. Evidence found at the site of Miriam’s rescue exonerates Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) of any involvement in the Ripper and Copycat cases, and he is released from the asylum. Will warns Dr. Chilton (Raúl Esparza) that he could be in danger due to his intimate knowledge of the Ripper case, but when Chilton tries to confide in Jack that he shares Will’s fears about Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen), he is rebuffed—no evidence has been found against Hannibal, despite the FBI’s efforts. Meanwhile, Jack wastes no time in reinstating Will on the BAU team as they hunt for the Ripper. After introducing Will and Miriam to compare notes, Jack’s suspicions of Hannibal’s involvement continue to build. Only Miriam’s memory holds the key to unlocking the Ripper’s true identity, but can it be trusted?

Man, I could watch Fishburne and Mikkelsen talk about the weather for 60 minutes.
That'd be a show I'd still watch.
