Just yesterday Stan van Gundy was remarking on just how awful Turner is on defense, and SVG follows the metrics a good bit. He's been a terrible defender this season, apparently..
Plus Scola isn't even really good, and you counted Bynum, but he is what, exactly?

Turner can't shoot and he definitely can't defend. He's good insurance because he can play multiple positions.

And Scola.
Can't defend or shoot anymore. Guy's TS% isn't even 50%. He's not even better than Hansbrough at this point in his career
So you really believe that he's not an upgrade over Hansbrough and you are basing this on his TS%? Is it because of the "energy" that Psycho T brings?

Bynum
Seriously?
You have had Heat fans in this very thread declare that Greg Oden will be a factor in playoff time. Bynum is a POS but he's a hell of a lot better than Greg Oden. If he can produce the numbers that he did in Cleveland before dicking his way off the team, he most certainly makes Indy better (I'll give you that is a big if).

defender in Turner
Worse defender than Granger.
I disagree. I don't have the numbers to back it up, but I don't see how this is possible with Granger looking so poorly this year. Even if the defensive upgrade isn't as significant he's still a better player than Granger, who wasn't playing last year. To argue that the addition of Turner doesn't make Indy better than they were last year is only one a biased fan would make.
I'm not a Pacers fan obviously, and I don't hate the Heat. They earned their title last year and they will have to do it again against an improved team, that's all I am saying.

Manu and Tim Duncan are much older than Wade and Tony Parker's injury was just a random occurrence. You act like its a guarantee Wade will get hurt like Parker did.
I'm not saying Wade won't get hurt but I would definitely think the odds of him not getting injured is much higher than the latter

Turner's play will improve. Going from the worst team with the worst coach and probably the worst front office in the league to arguably the best team with the best coach and the best front office in the league will do wonders for his production.

They are far from this

different year, same narrative.
then all the idiots go into hibernation once LBJ hoists the trophy.
rinse and repeat.

not by a longshot, hinkie is a morey disciple he'll get things turned around. Look at how they fleeced nola on the holiday trade.

Yeah I actually like the way they are set up for the future. They just can't miss on the 500 draft picks they have.

Turner was on a team where he started and could shoot as much as he wanted and boost his stats as much as possible but now he will go to a team that will have him coming off the bench and not allow him to have as much freedom.
And you think his production will go up?!
And to the Greg Oden vs Bynum debate.. Bynum is by far the better player but he isn't getting healthy and doesn't even seem to be trying to. Oden is getting better and will most likely play some valuable minutes for the Heat. At this rate, bynum will not

They gave up a promising young point who was coming off of his best year for a limited big man and another pick. Far from fleecing. Hell if anything, they got fleeced. Then again, I prefer proven over potential potential (not an error).

And drafted the ROY at PG

Not with the same pick. And MCW is ROY by default. This rookie class has been one of the worst so far. Wouldn't be surprised if he winds up being moved to SG in the next year or two.
ETA: Either way, the Sixers are hot garbage going nowhere fast. The Pacers are basically the Midwest Spurs from a locker room/directional viewpoint. Top notch organization from all sides.

Heat are the favorites and will probably win the title, but I always laugh at anyone who thinks they are easily the best team in basketball. I had friends who thought just because they won 27 in a row, or whatever it was, that they were going to walk to a title. And they were pretty fortunate to win it.
They've been taken to 7 games three times in the last two playoffs. I suspect if they win it this year, it will be a similar path. But how many times can they win those must-win games? No matter how good they are, they're going to come out on the losing end eventually.
All that being said, if I had to pick a team to win it all this year, it would be the Heat.

New Orleans could have drafted MCW or Burke with their pick. Holiday isn't really that much better than either of them.
Instead they gave up a pick and a guy who could turn out to be the best player in the draft.

He leads rookies in PPG, Assists per game, and steals per game.

That's not saying much. This draft class is historically bad.

Again, that ain't saying much with how bad these guys as whole have been playing.

Philly possibly got the 2 best players in the last draft and now have an extra pick in what is arguably one of the better drafts in last decade.
