BTW,

I am just south of the half-way line and far to the right, which is almost EXACTLY where Milton Freedman fell.

I don't really agree with either of those to be perfectly honest, but the second one is definitely better. The first one is just not really correct.

The first diagram is a mess. Nazism and fascism do not belong on the right while Anarchy does. American conservatism extrapolates to unregulated social Darwinism if taken to the extreme.

it is so clearly the later and not the former.

note: most anarchs are right rather than left. Also Liberal conservative left and right are all relative terms. A liberal from the mid 20th century would be very right wing today.

Also the top one is to reductionistic there are multiple views in each belief set.

The first one makes no sense. Nazism and Fascism are big government systems. Both are left wing..Nazis were a socialist party.

Anarchism is a far right wing ideology. No Government.

I would put Nazism and Fascism on the far left and Anarchy on the far right, then add in Libertarianism on the lean right freedom scale and move Conservatism a little further right since social Conservatives like to use Government to limit freedom.

Given those 2 options, definitely the second. The first looks like it's meant to confuse people.

I like a circular diagram with lots of lines emanating from the center out to the perimeter. Then apply the same 4 terms as seen on the square, but I'd change the bottom to Anarchism. Left - Right - Anarchism - Authoritarianism.

The second is not perfect, but it's far better than the first diagram.

Despite what all the prigs would like you to believe, Naziism and Fascism are actually more to the left of the spectrum. I think one could also argue that anarchism is to the very far right.

i prefer a multidimensional chart to just a straight line but the first one is a lot more accurate than a lot of people on here want to admit.
