Yeah I wouldn't put it pass Rouses on Tchoup in having old beer. However I'm in there a bunch and just noticed this new batch. WF has to be new. I'm in there daily and always pay attention to what beers are out.

Yeah, a few of us took advantage of that "deal".

Well, I remember thinking it was mislabeled, but I also remember going back a couple weeks later and it was still $6.99, so I got another bottle. Along with a $5.99 Pumpkinator.

IMHO, it was much better when it was fresh and the Citra dry hop was busting out. It does have a good bit more brett funk to it now and some people really like that.

I am not getting much hops at all. Lots of good sour funk. It is quite refreshing.

Tomorrow and Wednesday probably.

Good deal, I know you will give us a detailed report.

Only thing that irks me about Parish. I know it's a small, independent, local brewery and it will be more than say Stone or Sierra Nevada but you gotta believe they are making some crazy markup. $15 for a 750ml bottle is just too much, imo.

I am banking on them keeping the price down I hate spending 12 on a bottle.

FBD - On the road Monday.. Daily Parish Beer Update: quote: Ghost in the Machine update 2/17: The beer is tasting phenomenal and is ready for packaging tomorrow. We will probably have it on draft in our taproom tomorrow evening. We will confirm tomorrow afternoon. The aroma is amazing and the highlight of the beer. 8.5% ABV and way past hoppy...yet smooth and light bodied. Grapefruit bitterness that lingers pleasantly in the finish. It is still probably too hoppy for you. Cheers! Had it on Friday. Straight from the fermenter so no carbonation and it hadn't been filtered. But sweet baby Jesus it was good.

We need to have a louisiana brewery homer thunderdome. Salmon can represent great raft, wise for nola and bbrou for parish. Steel cage match to the death, winner is named best brewery in the state.

New Farmhouse's have been distributed. Don't think there is anyway to tell the difference other than taste.
Parish did just invest in a new date machine. Bottled on dates will be stamped on the bottle right below the neck, right below label, or both.
I may have been wrong on the price. at least $11-$13 though. And we've had this dumb discussion before. You can't compare Parish to Stone. Parish is working on expansion and this isn't an all the time release. Plus Stone is so much bigger, they can go lower on the price.
Anyway. It's worth it to me

Borrelia: I should be in LC Friday. Growlers of this will not be filled I don't believe. But I for sure can bring you some bottles

ETA: I'm down for a cage match to the death. Only if I'm the winner though

Just got word I have to go to Lake Charles Thursday. Looks like a stop at Parish is in order to get a growler fill of GITM. Will they give me a hard time about a Nola growler other than a little joking?

of course you can. Well, you can compare the prices they charge for beer. Can't compare in most other areas.

Parish is working on expansion

so? what's that got to do with the price they charge for their beer? Are you saying they would charge less if not expanding?

quote:

this isn't an all the time release

again, unless this is a one-time very limited release, that doesn't matter. Hundreds of seasonal/special release bombers and 750s can be bought for under $10.

that's all that matters in the end

Just curious, but what would be your example of reasonably priced?
Reasonable would be somewhere between $8-12.

other top IIPAs:
Heady Topper $3/16oz
Pliny $5-$8/16.9 oz
Lawson's Double Sunshine $10/22oz
Kern River Citra $8-10/22 oz
Surly Abrasive $4/16 oz
OTWOA $3/12oz

Can't fairly compare the price to heady. Alchemist makes one beer so they get a bulk deal on ingredients and packaging. I don't see why it should be more expensive than lawsons, kern river, or HF double ipas.

KR Citra is the most apt comparison IMO and that's $8 a 22oz bomber after bpt fees, etc. Double Sunshine is close as well.

I'd happily pay $8-$10 a big bottle if it is close to as good as those beers.

In fairness all of those VT breweries can sell directly to customers...

The stupid arse beer laws in this state are half the reason you pay more.

If you're paying $12 for a FIPA, Dr H, or Ghost; I would guess Parish is probably only seeing $3 or $4 of that.

Get rid of the 3-tier bs and you'll have more beer and it will be cheaper.

The bottles Parish sells directly don't seem to be any cheaper than the in store price, though.
