I preface this by saying I'm not hating on Mississippi. I know it is full of good people and just because I don't think it's the shiniest car on the lot doesn't mean it can't be something you love for good reasons.

But I was just browsing the Ole Miss vs MSU little brother/big brother thread on the SECR and it became clear that Mississippi really suffers in reputation for pretty much anything I can think of.

They are consistently at the bottom for lifestyle/health/GDP/education rankings. Let there be no mistake that they are often surrounded by southern company on these lists, but I am trying to think of the cultural offering that gets them off the hook. Louisiana in a lot of ways ranks just as bad or worse except they have a significant cultural export they offer the rest of the US.

Where am I missing something? What is MS really good at?

Blues music? Just can't help but think that expired and they don't have a monopoly on it.

Really? Is that all you have in regards to LA? Do you even natural resource bro? Educate yourself and revisit the subject. As far as your original question about MS, I got nothing good to offer other than that whore whole Illusions in Woodville

What has BR produced culturally? Has BR produced anything that can compare to the impact and influence of The Louisiana Hayride out of Shreveport?
