Just got back from the Boat show and Gun Show in Shreveport, it was a small show but just like all the gun shows here the prices were beyond stupid, you can buy brand new stuff at academy for cheaper then the junk they have on their counters, if you are looking for something classic you can usually find the exact equivalent or better online for 20-40% cheaper. A guy had some beat up Belgian A5's for 1295.00 ea. LMAO, there was a guy who wanted 1500 for a Garand that looked like it was drug behind a pickup truck, I have a pristine Winchester WW2 serial # Garand I would be lucky to get 1500 for.

They were asking around $18 for 17hmr ammo at the one in Gonzales. Every sporting goods store in br has 17hmr ammo for about $12. I paid $16 for me and my gf to get in just to get 17wsm ammo and no one there had it.

I hate Academy, but they usually have the best deals out there. They are like the Walmart of gun dealers.

I posted something like this about a week ago about the Shreveport gun show.

Glad I didn't waste my time or gas.

They will be in Monroe in a couple of weeks. I guess I will look at all the toys and pay $7 admission to look around.

Maybe I can score a deal on some ammo but I doubt it.

Don't know what all you could've gotten, but I know you couldn't have gotten ANY gun powder or bullets. At the gun show in S'port last weekend, there not a single pound of smokeless powder to be found. For the life of me, I don't understand why the venders travel as far as they do, spending considerable money on gas, food and a motel, only to not sell anything because everything they have is drastically overpriced…..For the last couple years, on my way leaving the gun show, I swear to myself I'm not going to the next one….So far I've not been able to keep my promise….

Glad I read this. I was thinking about going to the Monroe show next week but your post reminded me about seeing the same over priced stuff and no ammo I can use. I guess I will forego the purchase of this years dreamcatcher.

Went with a friend who picked up a $7 machete (really $15 if you count admission. I went to pick up the Mini 14 I bought through Gallery of Guns/Davidson's

We walked around googling how much we could save on everything
