Wife has a cc with meh rewards and I have never had a cc. Never bothered to get one. Other than a Barclays card for a Mac I bought. Which ones would be good starters for each of us to get.
Need to know your spend habits to really give good advice. Also need to have an idea of what kind of rewards you want with the card (travel, cash back etc). You get the most bang IMO transferring "miles/points" to various airlines and using them to book flights. With this mindset, it is just picking a card that will let you maximize points based on your spending habits with the end goal of travel rewards. If you don't travel you probably want to go a cash back route.

What CC, sans CSP, has the best sign up bonus right now? Any 100k points offers out there right now besides the targeted Amex Plat?

Not a whole lot of good offers out there out of the ordinary. Might see a few offers with the holiday season coming up. I'm app free until January and I'm hoping SW is still offering their 50k point cards. I'd like to get companion pass as I've got at least 3 flights with them next year. I'm doing a lot of spending on my United biz to hopefully justify them giving me another biz line.
On another note, I just got 15k United points for calling to cancel my personal card. $95 annual fee. Solid value IMO. About $7k spend.
In 2 weeks I'll call to cancel my wife's Amex SPG. No reason to pay 2 annual fees as I'll keep mine, but I'm curious to see what is offered. Results are a mixed bag on FT.

I wish that 100k AA was still around

Me too. Incredible offer for $200 and lounge access for a year. $10k in 3 months is a steep hill though.

I know of the targeted offer you listed above and then some 50K offers for both the regular amex PR gold and the delta amex gold. I think I have a referral email for the delta gold if you want me to forward it to you to check out.

I have the DL Reserve -therefore I cannot get the DL Gold Bonus
I have considered getting the business but not worth the risk IMO

I think Teddy has an Amex biz card(Could be making this up) and probably running it through his SSN and not an EIN.

Nothing most people have to worry about I could get away with it using our family business but it's not something I am ready to do as of right now

Chase Ink Bold and Plus using SSN.
Haven't tried with anybody else, but maybe I should? I have a lot of dusty business plans in my closet.
My max is probably one per bank. After one, they ask a billion questions and you probably should have an actual business to show them data with if they ask.
With me, I'm independent enough from my employer where it isn't difficult for me to be in my own business on a dime, so I don't feel like I'm fibbing too much.

A Couple years down the road, rinse/repeat with another dusty biz plan .

Chase actually requested several documents from me for my first United Biz card under my legit LLC, yet they let my wife get the Ink plus no questions asked under her SSN.

I also found something out I did not know. I was under the impression that ANY change made to a United award ticket for a non-elite required a $75 fee. It does not.
I have been able to change every leg on my award ticket(two stopovers and one open jaw) without a fee online with the exception of one route. On that route, I called to get it changed and after it was done I was informed that it would be $75 and I told them never mind that in the past there was no fee and they waived it. I just kept waiting for the better routes to release award space over the last 2 months and without rhyme or reason(to my uneducated mind) they open up, close up, and re-open sporadically.
The more you know....
ETA: Origin and destination remained the same.

Ya I've only messed with changing award flights when an after booking airline change created a layover conflict or materially changed a trip. They were fine with that.
Nice to keep a lookout for. So far I've had pretty good luck getting the routing I want the first time. Thanks for the tip

The $200 airline eCert trick is pretty sweet for the Amex Platinum, basically knocks the fee from $450 down to $250 if you look at it that way.

I got a targeted 60k offer for this the other day, but I'm waiting it out for a better offer/don't need it this minute. I have been using my Starwood card more lately so hopefully that plays into it.

Sucks for those using it. I could never get a partner in on that so I feel ok about it.

Haha. I'll lurk and read the threads that interest me. If I have something worthwhile to add, I'll chime in. Travel stuff will usually get me to post something. I've been big into miles/points for a while now too. I've reaped their rewards, so I try to help out if I have something unique to add.

Good stuff. I always wonder how many lurkers may be benefitting from these threads

Yes, yes it does.
It is still available for business use which is okay with me. We all knew this time was coming and when you have bloggers like TPG writing articles read by tens of thousands, that process is accelerated.
The option is still there to help meet min spend requirements, so that is a plus although it comes with a 2.9% fee.
