This is disappointing. Still, I'm facing a 6 hour layover in Las Vegas in February.

I'll be partying and getting hammered in the Centurion Lounge the entire time.

AMEX is building their own lounges now to combat this reduced availability.

I am going to complain. My card isn't activated yet, I will probably ask to not enroll if they can't cut me a break with the fee or give additional points.

Say what you will but the biggest perk the card offers is going away in 2 months... amex realizes that and I'm sure they will offer $100 or whatever.

Yeah. That's not going to happen. Hope for a credit.

Complaining about the fee = poors in the AMEX world. The Platinum caters to that 2nd Tier spenders. They aren't gonna cut you a deal. I'd be absolutely shocked.

For as many people out there that don't care about the fee, there are just as many that do.

The card just doesn't have the value for me. I get 8 free club passes annually through other cards. I would have to be able to utilize the hell out of the lounges for it to pay for itself, and if they reduced my ability to utilize that privilege I would certainly expect to be compensated for a deteriorating product, or I'd find a product that better suited my needs.

You should read the reviews people are leaving on their site about the Platinum... I can assure you they are preparing for the implications this will have. If anything, people who can afford a Platinum know when they are getting ripped off and that a $450 fee for limited to no club access is a shite deal.

$450 means nothing to me but I'm not retarded I am not going to keep paying $450 unless they get the perks straightened out. Hell 4 hours ago you had no idea they were limiting the club access with Delta.. that isn't good business by AMEX

Log in to your acct. Click on the "Pay Bill" icon. It will be on the top right when you go to that pay bill page. There is an icon.

It does for me. If I take 3 vacations a year, it pays for itself. Like I said, I was already paying $175 for the GPR. And now I'm getting reimbursed $200 and have lounge access.

It's value is worth it to me. Like I said, I'm facing a 7 hour wait at the Centurion Lounge next month in Vegas. I will be getting hammered and eating the free buffet.

Worth it.

Sure. I just get more value out of other cards that offer comparable perks for a lot less. I don't need to flash the Platinum to feel good about myself.
