OC Doug Nussmeier leaves #Bama for #Michigan. Will now be among 5 highest-paid coordinators in CFB, per source. cbsprt.co/K7vmQW

Lane Kiffin, coach in waiting...

He's dirty so Bama would be a good fit.

Ya, definitely bad for Bama. On the surface it's good for Michigan. I w hoping they were going to get someone like Nuss. Young, forward thinking, well regarded. I just figured he would be a head coach in a year or two. That doesn't help Michigan.

But it's not Scott Leofler, so I can't complain too much.

Nuss is easily replaceable as an OC. All I care about is if it will affect any recruits currently committed. Doubt it would.

Oh and Lane Kiffin as an OC would be a home run hire as long as he could set aside his ego and be willing to have a boss. Excellent recruiter and playcaller.

Seems most of your fanbase is ready to run him out of town anyway despite his offenses averaging 445 and 454 yards per game during his tenure. Over 200 ypg rushing each year.

I just can't understand why Saban would've wanted him to look around.. Bama has had a tremendous offense the last few years.. One that fit perfectly with sabans defensive style.. I can only imagine it was a clash of personalities/egos at this point..

Good hire for Michigan IMO.. Saban could very easily have someone in mind and follow suit with a solid replacement...as long as it's not kiffin

Has Saban really encouraged him to look around? Why? Why not encourage Kirby to look around then after the last 2 games?

Because Kirby is not really the DC and Saban needed a scapegoat.

The only thing holding me back from really liking it is the high chance of Kiffen being the next OC.

But goddamn our recruiting would get better.

Can it really get that much better? I wouldn't think the OC drop off would be worth a slight bump

There is no way the offense is better under Lane. Nussmeier was pretty damn creative with his calls and play designs.
