My dumbass dog would've been in the water from Sunday until today biting sticks that were floating by
I have a buddy who has two kayaks, but IIRC, they had holes in them a year ago. Don't know if he fixed them or not. Would that help at all?
I was just thinking...at what point does a dog just say,"Eh well, I think I have chased enough birds. Time to head back".

need to get one of the remote control helicopters with the camera and video feed!
Now we're thinking. What's the range on one of those things?

100yds max on the best personal ones
You'd be spending thousands if you want one to go further

My dad a had female redbone that would run deer until she couldn't stop. She vanished for a few weeks and turned up miles away. We had to nurse her back to health.
What was funny was her brother was just as good at running deer but he would always come back. I remember one Saturday he got gone and later while we were sitting around the fire at the camp he just came walking up out of the darkness.
RIP Red and Ginger.

my buddy had a red bone for bear hunting that would basically almost kill himself every time hunting so hard
till one day, he did..
RIP Gus

I know someone who used to mess around with those things. Higher end drone-type ones too.
Just put in a text to her to check to see if she still does or had contacts with them.

That would be badass. Plus you can scout for ducks.

At first I thought you were talking about shooting dogs from above using a drone.

If the OB is responsible for recovering a lost dog using a remote control chopper, then we will have really taken this to a new level. Holy shite, the OB could win wars.

Operation Chopper could at least drop the dog a bone or something.

Thanks for all the help, support and well wishes.. but.. Like wick said - unless it was a helo with a hoist if we found him via the air - we ain't getting to him today.
Yat and us went everywhere you could possibly get a boat today - we got as close to getting stuck as you can get without officially saying OH SNAP we are stuck... and the water seemed to have dropped a little more while we were out there.
Originally we had no idea how far you could see from the launch owner's up stairs but from their perch you can see the entire marsh with good binocs.
where they actually saw him was a good 300 yards UPDWIND of any location we could get with a boat today.
we have his kennel there with some familiar scents in it..hopefully he finds it.
about 1/2 half that marsh is a giant mudflat today.
our bow was pushing up mud for a few hundred yards....
I am sure he is finding enough to eat.....there are plenty of crippled ducks there.. and small rodents don't stand a chance

the bigger problem - seeing him doesn't do much if you can't get to him.

well as a fellow outdoorsman and dog owner- im going to continue to pray that you find Grizz or that he finds his way out that marsh. Yall dont give up hope, I feel certain a hunter will help him out this weekend if nothing else.

just to get this right. This was the last known location right?

I don't know anything about a marsh, so forgive my stupid questions......... But can somebody not get in a kayak or canoe, paddle out there wearing some tall boots or waders, and walk the area he was seen?
