Hopefully it'll turn out well. I have a buddy whose dog jumped out of his truck 11 miles from home, and he randomly showed up one night a week later. He'll show up somewhere by people. Just gotta keep at it man

as for posting lost info on craigslist or facebook...
when he went wandering looking for love at home....the person that found him called in tag..
but I still get 55 emails a week and tagged by "rescue groups" constantly.
if someone has him and wants to return him...they will.
he did cover about 4 miles once chasing a crippled goose....

Man this sucks dude. I rabbit hunt and just bought a garmin Alpha for this exact reason. I would hate to lose my dogs. Keep us updated. Definitely want to read a good ending to this one.

You have a pic of the dog? Age, size, color, breed might help, too?

Looked at the map, figured you were in the boonies not NOLA E. I can take tomorrow off if anyone that knows the area a little wants to do a walkabout.

Don't give up hope.
Two years ago, my buddy lost his dog on a long retrieve, and like you, looked until past the point of exhaustion. He had his two young sons with him, on 5 and the other 7.
They went back the next day at daylight, and had no luck. Sometime past lunchtime, my buddy decides to have "a funeral for Lucky". He explained to his boys that Lucky wasn't coming back, told them he had walked across the Rainbow Bridge into dog heaven, and all they could do now was to say a prayer for him, and thank God for the years of loyal service and companionship that Lucky had given them all.
So, they said a prayer for Lucky.
About 5 seconds after the Amen was said, my buddies cell phone rang. Another hunter had found him in the marsh, approximately 7 miles from where he was last seen.
Zero embellishment in that story. It's all true.

Funny thing.. just got a text from someone who was asked to "look" in the area.. was out there made several passes.. then saw one of my signs and was like.. wait a minute.... That is....insert my name with a few expletives in front of it.....
Said he got stopped by some "authorities".... in the area...who also asked him if he saw dog.....
I said never knew i had that many friends....
was met with a rude comment of don't kid yourself... we looking for your wife and son.. not you...
but like he said.. riding around looking for a dog is better than sitting in his office.....

choupique
where Chef M(90) and Hwy 11 meet, is that a boat fabrication business or military type facility on Bayou Savauge ?
you weren't real far and I'm guessing hwy traffic and human noise could be heard from your yellow area above.
Hoping Grizzly makes his way South to the nearest place of business and an honest, dog loving person calls you

I sent the pic to my Dad. He works right there at Textron, outside. He drives hwy 11 to work.
Told him if he sees your dog to call me and try to hold the dog. I gave him his name as well.

Wish I could man. No way to place some calls to the surrounding businesses and offer a reward?
Good to hear that damn dog is still kicking
Eta: Could also try petitioning the OT. There are far more people there than the OB
