Which is worse losing your whole defense or offense?

If Hill Turner and Collins declare will it be harder for us to overcome the losses on the offensive side of the ball than what we lost last year on defense?

Young offense > young defense imo

Offensive side is easier to overcome, no doubt. Landry, Beckham and Hill are at plug-and-play positions, and while we can expect a drop-off, it'll be less drastic than the defensive losses.
Turner and Collins going hurts some, but we get most of our guys back on the line.
I'm surprised Mettenberger isn't listed in your OP, losing a good QB like him is actually the hardest thing on the list to replace imo. Thankfully Jennings is talented and we have Rivers, Rettig and Harris good and available.

whatever. it's a new ballgame; every team loses 2 or 3 jrs and LSU loses 8 or9. no way to win the natty if you ask me.

I left Mett out because we know he is out the door already along with juice and OBJ. I agree losing your offense is easier to overcome but I think the growing pains will be more frustrating from a fan perspective.

Defense. Most exciting, record setting offense in years, still had three losses this year.

We may be developing players quickly for the NFL but with this kind of revolving door early depart pattern, we are not building for any kind of serious team run at the National Championship. Good for individual players, maybe. But not a good thing for LSU, the team.

Defence!
If you can't get the other team off the field, your offence has little chance to be successful.

Hill, OBJ, and Landry and Mett are plug n play? LOL
We are going to suck on O next year, prepare thyselves. Defense will be solid though imo.

replacing OL and QB is much, much harder than anything on defense
plus defenders gain a lot more experience before they're starters with all the rotations defenses do. inexperienced offensive players (outside of RB) are often truly inexperienced

"defense wins championships"

I'd definitely go losing offense as worse. Just a feeling but it seems inexperienced defenses have a better chance at coming back and playing well whereas offenses almost always struggle. LSU's defense definitely struggled this year but I'd still rather have a new defense than offense.

Losing RBs and WRs are not nearly as bad as losing experience and talent of Defense. The offensive skill positions are very easy to replace.
What will hurt is losing the QB and 2 or 3 Olinemen.

A really good defense can carry almost any offense...

That will depend on how the replacements on offense perform. This years defensive replacements obviously did not perform up to the standard of those they replaced.
The big key will be Jennings of course, very hard to win championships without good QB play. All the other positions as well will be affected by how the newcomers perform.
Watching this transition is what keeps up all interested year after year.

Defense. We have a lot of experience playing with a crappy offense.

For a Les Miles team losing the D is far worse than losing the O. We won championships with mediocre offenses (though the actual talent on O was above average to great) and excellent Defense.
Cam with lesser talent can at least do what Stud D with great talent. If Chief can get the D back to form, things won't be so bad.

and very hard to get good qb play w/o good OL play. losing 3 starters on the OL will be disastrous.

if we can keep a core group of oline studs we will be fine. hopefully the early losses will start to even out between offense and defense. get used to it boys...it's the world LSU lives in.

losing your whole defense. high end athletes are harder to replace on defense. gotta have em on that side of the ball.
