I was thinking a different kind of mastiff apparently.

I like those two, but am drawn to these two more. I like the English Mastiff a lot too.

Been a while since posting. Electric is currently being installed and the plumber is coming out next week to give an estimate/get started. Tiles should be going in shortly as well.

6x6 solid oak beams went in and let me just say... don't ever assume that's a good idea. Heavy. As. shite.

And I now have doors made for normal sized people:

And the camera sort of distorted this photo, but here's the entry door

And the whitewash has begun:

And a few photos of the back corner of the property:

Yeah, as you know, winter was tough this year and pretty much stalled everything over the last few months. All is back in motion now though

Woah woah woah. Way too neat electrical work going on here. You sure that's up to code?

I thought it was an electricians job to make sure they put all romex in anything but a straight line

This is pretty awesome. Sorry if it was posted somewhere else in the thread, but how many acres is this on?

To the OP. I would wait to install the flooring as the last thing to do when building.

My uncle's doing it. I'll have to let him know I won't stand for this straight line crap

The wife and I been talking about building a small one bedroom cabin. Around 1k sq foot livin area. Thinking of selling our house to our son. Down sizing would be the plan. From 4 bed room to one. That or just move our hunting camp to were we want to live. It's a 23'x24' with front and back porches. We would just move there, but it is off the grid altogether way in the boondocks and 4wheeling is the only way to get to it.

I was hoping for off the grid, but with this property being on the edge of a city, I'm using those hookups to save some costs for now.

I can, however, drive up to my property with ease.

Few shots of the "pond" as it currently stands. Will be drained, cleaned and deepened either later this year or next.

Well, we were informed we'd need another window up in the loft large enough to be considered a fire escape, so dad went ahead and ordered one.

Come to find out, it's too small to work.
So, I now have a nice east facing window out back

He must have sensed that this was coming though, as when I pulled up today he had this hoopty waiting on me for the farm
We'll call it even
