It's just the huge disparity between home and away that's bothering me. I really believe that it was over-stated in the past, but it's come to fruition this year.

Unknown, indeed.
You don't even know yourself.

From hosting a playoff game and being the #2 seed to praying other teams lose so we get in by default.
Did I say anything about praying for that to happen? Way to skew what I said.

Seattle
New Orleans
Carolina
San Francisco
Denver
NE
KC
Indy
Those are probably the four best teams in each conference. I'd say the NFC is better.

I just want to win the NFC South. I know that the Saints are not going to the Superbowl this season, so, I just want to win the NFC South.
The Saints are a Dome/Finesse/Home team with little power in the trenches, they have a shaky kicker, and they are kind of soft on the road.
Of course you want your team to make the POs under any conditions, and it would be great for the Saints to get a PO win or two, but, right now, I just want the division.
I have a bad feeling that the Saints are not good enough to even win the division this season.

when we get ousted from the playoffs, it will a beatdown of the seattle/st. louis variety
There is no beatdown that we can give carolina that will make me feel better about our playoff chances.

Well...
Indy beat Seattle.
Indy beat San Fran.
NE beat the Saints.
Carolina beat NE.

Do you really think Indy is better than those teams? Come on. Teams lose. It happens.

Records don't matter once we get to the playoffs. It's all about getting hot at the right time.
It sure matters if your record decides whether you play a game at home or on the road in the playoffs. Don't be ridiculous.

Yep. Is there a point you are trying to make here?

I've read a lot of stupid shite on here but, by far, this is the worst I've ever seen. For anyone, ever, to not want their team in the playoffs..... Nm, you have to be trolling.
and you got me.
and you got me.

Me too. Good or bad, anything that happens in the playoffs is pure lagniappe. A Super Bowl would be awesome, so would a single wild card game on TV. But to me, if nothing else it would sure be nice to have another legit divisional banner hanging up in the rafters.
