I think you're right. Collins had some lapses at times, but when he was on, he was as dominant as you'll find. The writers may not have noticed, but the coaches will.

Jarvis Landry is a First Team All-American in my book.

These selections will stand the test of time about as well as ESPN's rankings of high school football players. Mettenberger and McCarron, if they stay healthy, will be more successful NFL quarterbacks than Manzeil, Murray, or Shaw.

I would switch McCarron and Murray.

Landry not being 1st team is a damned crime.

If that's the writers, then they always seem to leave someone out. I respect the coaches vote a little more because they have gameplanned against these guys and they can't vote for their own players. Collins will be on the coaches team somewhere and Landry as tough as he was on 3rd down will be 1st team.

And Johnson whom everyone is hating on?

Could someone compare Johnson's and Ego's stats with other DTs in the SEC. Also OBJ and JL stats with other receivers stats? Thanks.

Stats only tell part of the story. If you watched any LSU games other than the A&M game, you'd know that our defensive tackles got pushed around a lot.

I don't think either deserve much recognition for this season.

I agree about stats, but you can't totally discount them either. I do know Freak played much better than he is given credit for. And like someone said, lets see what the coaches think of him.

I think you're getting McCarron confused with Murray.

And Ego, Collins, and Freak are ready for the NFL ?... can't even make second team SEC. They better stay or they will be another Trev or Sam. We will see what the coaches think.

The reason I see why Matthews shouldn't be first team is that he only has 5 TD's on the year. Juice had that many 3 games into the season.

He led the SEC in yards and broke the career record for receiving yards. If he didn't get 1st team it would have been a travesty
