Watching the A&M game, I was thinking that he runs kind of like Hester - hard and low to the ground.

He seems tough as nails, too.

I really hope he doesn't think about going pro. I would love to have him back next year as the main back and as a senior. He has paid his dues. It is time for him to shine.

And, I say that even if we get Fournette. I don't think we will be able to keep Magee off the field for what he adds in blocking, receiving, and running the ball.

Can't compare the two. Couldn't be anymore different than black and white.

actually, yeah in a way he does.

Ware was always the best comparison to Hester IMO though.

He is a north south runner like Hester, and he finishes runs the way Hester did, always getting the maximum yardage he should get. But he is much quicker and not as bog.

McGee reminds me of Ray Rice, both is physical appearance and the way he runs. To me, McGee is the most consistently effective RB on our roster. Hill has a bigger upside, but he seems to want to take every handoff to the endzone, regardless of the game situation.

When McGee has a negative play, it is almost always because a defender was not accounted for and gets penetration deep in the backfield. Hill has a lot of negative plays because he tries to bounce it outside trying to hit the homerun.

I am a big fan of McGee.

No not at all. Maybe Carey.

Hester was all power and will.

Magee is all speed and will.

When Magee starts breaking tackle after tackle and goes in for short yardage situations and always gets two yards maybe then.

yes...the comparison is obvious to me. both quick...not fast. both hit the hole at near top speed. both run the play the way it was called. olineman's dream.

Magee is my favorite kind of running back, short, thick, fast, hits the hole hard, and follows the blocks/play.

Magee is on a different level than Hester ever was. Hester was basically a less talented Spencer Ware.. just a fullback playing HB really.

Could possibly be the worst comparison I've ever seen

Neither are small.

But i think the comparison you are trying to draw has to do with their lower half. Both have short legs.

Not even close, yet. Hester was a better technical runner, and he could put the team on his back. High intensity, high usage threshold, always "in the game", etc.

If Magee gets the senior treatment next year, he definitely has skills to be that type of player, but he's got a lot of work to do in the mindset department.

One skill that he as over Hester (and most RBs anywhere) is his receiving ability, especially from out wide. He looks like a full-time WR out there, and can take corners 1-on-1 on any type of route that a WR would run. IMO, this aspect of his game needs to be used more often.
