Humorless, sociopathic robot or a goofball that loves his job.

Which would you rather have?

The robot gets more wins but he is creepy.

Watching Saban tonight made me like Les more despite the stupid shite he does from time to time.

Miles all day long. I'm old school, character is lifelong, championships are fleeting.

I don't hang out with either of them so I'll take the one who gets more wins. That's what coaches are hired to do anyway. I got my own friends.

You get paid to do your job.

Do you work with creepy, strange people? If not, you don't work in a large environment.

Who has done better at his respective job?

I don't think Saban is a robot by any stretch. He has a persona he shows the public but his players say he's engaging and down to earth.

I recall Robert Royal saying Saban was fun to be around and cut up with the players.

I will not compare the two.

I will say this. Watch Les' post game conference. His priorities are in the right place. Yes he wants to coach his players to excellence, but he cares deeply about them as people. Call me idealistic but I still believe that 18,19,20,21 year olds competing in intercollegiate athletics are very impressionable people and a coach can have a huge influence on them as human beings. I want to root for a guy I know will coach them, but also teach them to be great men, leaders in their community, and great fathers. I dont know him personally but from all accounts, all indications and stories written Les is a living example of all those. I like having a guy like that as a face of the football program and largely the public face of the school.

I think Saban's a hell of a coach, but people here look at him like some demi-god. Saban gets more gifts than anyone. Somehow Bama gets to play for a National Championship without winning their division or conference against a team with everything to lose? bullshite. If Saban was as good of a coach as everyone makes him out to be, he'd have a god damned kicker worthy of an SEC team. You'd think with 30 recruits a year, he could get one.

I'm just sick of Saban being idolized by people who have a mancrush on Saban while forgetting his time at LSU (Outside of winning a disputed championship in '03). Les Miles is a great coach and has kept LSU relevant while every other powerhouse in the SEC has crumbled at least once. I'll take him because he seems to love LSU and keeps the team successful. It's just moronic to act like it's out of character for LSU to have 2-3 loss seasons when our past two championships were a 1 loss debated championship year and a 2 loss championship year. Only one team wins a 'ship a year, and LSU being in the running for it every year says something about the team. There isn't another more difficult division to play in than the SEC West, and everyone stumbles or has close games against people they shouldn't. Les Miles, for all of his flaws, is a good coach and a good guy, and I'm not going to sit here looking over at Bama with thoughts of Saban oiled up with no shirt on like some of you. The fact of the matter is that Saban screws up just as much, but most of you just make excuses for him because you're infatuated with him.

MILES...Because he actually cares about his players and he understands that he's a mentor because not everyone makes it to the next level....and perhaps most important LES actually knows his children because he makes them a priority.
