Excuse my lack of movie knowledge please...
I'm looking for a movie or two to enjoy this week with my 12 year old daughter while she's out of school...
We enjoyed the two movies above... enough action and imagination to keep both of us interested, but... uhh, but "decent" enough to watch with your daughter.
Any suggestions?

Those are good
I guess Finding Neverland is a good movie for a daughter and dad to watch. Not sure.
Oh wait I got a great one.. What about.. Life of Pie!

Thanks so far...
She has discovered Forrest Gump, and loves it too.
She nixed Pie months ago, but I might have to push it a little more.
For anyone else, one my family favs is Secretariat... great feel good movie.

Not necessarily like the ones listed & you've both probably seen but here's a few:
Whale Rider
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
The Goonies
Fly Away Home
Mr. Holland's Opus
Little Man Tate
To Kill a Mockingbird
Where The Red Fern Grows
True Grit (original)
The African Queen
The Incredible Journey
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Dragonslayer
Maybe too sexual for 12:
Starman
Good Will Hunting
As Good As It Gets
Big

The World's Fastest Indian is the perfect answer to this.
And yes, if she hasn't seen Princess Bride then that one too.

Great for that age and still entertaining to an adult.
