I have little to no access to private land or water, so everything is public. As such, if I caught fish I always tell people (and it's almost always true) I was fishing "an oxbow south of town off the Red River." This is vague since there are numerous oxbows and people usually get the hint.

If it is hunting, I'll usually tell them "public land." Again, it's true but not enough to tell them anything worthwhile.

To quote Les Miles, "I won't be forthcoming, and I'll be honestly deceptive".

My buddy hunts in Mississippi and had a monster 8 on his game camera. He posted it on the camp board knowing everyone would get it before him. He shot it last year at the end of the season

It really depends on who I am talking to. If it's the landowner I am completely forthcoming. If it is someone else other than a really close friend..."I gut shot a coyote"

As Coco said, my fish are always caught "on an oxbow off the Red River."

If I didnt come out of the woods with a deer, "I didnt see shite".

I am fortunate enough to hunt and fish both private and public land that a few people have invited me to. Out of respect for their previous efforts put into the spot, I end up keeping quiet about my endeavors aside from a general picture.

I generally tell all the information I think would be helpful. My experience with fishing isn't big enough to really help people. I hunt private land for ducks so I will help with whatever advice I think is pertinent. Couldn't give a shite about a deer. I'll let other people kill the horns cuz they get way more excited about it then I would.

I guard my public land spots with my life, only my close network of hunting buddies gets any kind of info. Unless somebody does me a solid in the outdoor world, then I may hook them up

I'm pretty honest and forth coming with information to people I know, but if I don't know the person asking me and they seem like a douche, then I will tell them the exact opposite of what they should do.

Example: I get back to the boat launch with a mess of fish (rarely happens)that we caught on the east side with artificial cocahoe minnows, and some real loud obnoxious guy asks where we caught them. Well, we went waaaaaaaay northwest and caught them all on purple and gold rattle traps or top water baits!
